They wanted something that fit the hand batter than a true double stack .45.

Yup. I think of the M&P .45 as a "stack-and-a-half" gun instead of a doublestack. Sure, they could make a doublestack gun that holds 13 rounds or so....if they wanted to make something that felt as crappy and huge as the Glock 21.

I really like my M&P .45 Compact - 1911 capacity, G19 size, real 45 ACP, not that 45GAP crap.

my M&P 45 is the only staggered mag 45 that actually fits my hand well.  The Glock21, HK USP45 etc are too big for me to grip and properly reach the trigger.

10+1 also beats the huge majority of .45ACP handguns out there anyway.  I'm not sure why some people are so up in arms about the lower capacity of the M&P45, the benefits of the more comfortable grip far outweigh the "advantage" of 2 or 3 more rounds in the magazine.

While I like the M&P45, an XD45 has higher capacity while being extremely comfortable. I have small meat hooks and my XD45 is very nice. With that said, I love shooting my friends M&P45 too. If an XD45SC doesn't come out soon, I'll be picking up an M&P45c.

I can agree that the G21 feels 2x4ish. On the same note, I've never shot a G21SF; I don't have any desire too either.

Just bought a new M&P45c and I really like it.  I have fairly large thick hands but the small grip fits the best.  I need a carry holster.  I like the kydex and friends tell me they like it for thier guns.  It seems the choices for the 45 are slim and I am having trouble determing if the 40/9 holsters are compatable.  Any thoughts or experiences?

G19 holsters work perfectly for the 45c.

I have found that leather holsters for the SIG226 pistols work well with my M&P45

BAH BAH BAH Fie on you all.

I bought the (now) wife an M&P 45 for her 21st bday/wedding present. Yes, it comes with 10 round mags, however you can order the 14 round mags, and take off the ugly grip extension. However, she likes (and although the M&P fits nicely, I like) my FNP45 much, much better. It fits the hand quite well.
