| In have been playing with my M&P9 for a little bit now trying to make the trigger reset more distinct and after a tip from another poster here, bent the trigger bar just a bit. It gave the reset a nice audible and tactile click, which is great. There is something that bugs me a bit and has caught me a couple times in letting the trigger go forward to reset. I can feel when the part of the trigger bar that pushes the striker block up moves off the bottom of the plunger and it throws me off. I checked APEX and did not see this specific issue addressed by any of their videos. It did the same thing before I tweaked the trigger bar so it does not stem from that. Is there a way to smooth that up so I do not get the false "reset" feeling? |

I have 2 M&Ps with the APEX RAM, one also has the DCAEK, one has the Competition AEK. Neither of these present that "false" reset, not even slightly. It's not there. Only 1 true, audible, reset. In the case of the gun with the Competition AEK and RAM, I also installed a heavy Massachusetts trigger return spring, and the reset is actually tactile.
In every other M&P that I have, but haven't upgraded, the false reset is present, and what little messing around I did prior to buying Apex parts, I could do nothing to relieve it, but I did not try very hard. I cannot say whether it's the RAM, the AEK, or a combination of both, that relieves this condition, as I don't have a gun with only one or the other installed at the moment. While I can't see inside to verify, I believe that the plunger geometry or surface finish in the AEK is what eliminates it. |
| do you have any of the apex parts in it? if you don't follow burwell instruction about rounding the firing pin block. and cut about a third off the spring. this will aleviate most Fpb issues. if you look at the action, the stregth of the trigger return spring influences how strong the trigger bar pop under the sear. stronger ones usually will get you a better click |
