I was discing someone because they were wanting to build off an Essixe frame because like the Lama it had the ejector built into the frame!  Now after looking at my only real Mil-Spec pistol(R&R)I find it also has the feature!  I was allways of the asumption that 1911' s  had a pinned in ejector.     Not the case I see now!

I have found that my Gov Model Colts are indeed not Mil-Spec,nor my other 1911's.

My apology to all that I have malingered by any posts I have made about any pistols that had no pinned in ejectors!

I will make this my New Years resolution to read more and post less!

My Systema 1927 has a pinned ejector does that make me cooler?

Are you sure it's not pinned in, or if it isn't pinned, that it's not just glued in?

Some manufacturers simply glued the ejector into the frame...look at the back of the gun, it's generally easier to see the space inbetween the ejector and the frame there...

look at the slide rail on the frame you will see a pin if it is pinned in.

What got me to looking was I saw a picture of Nap-Taner's new Springfield Mil-Spec,and it had no lines between ejector and frame.

So I looked at my RRand and sure enough it was the same, but my Gov Model colt's were pinned in.  So I'm thinking my Colt's are not Mil-Spec,am I right in asumeing this?

I'm pretty sure they are ALL pinned or glued, just because there isn't a visible line doesn't mean it is an integral part of the frame.  They are all replaceable.
