I ordered some of this stuff... I was expecting a small tube. I got a full grease-gun sized tube of it.

Is this stuff different from the 'oil' in it's use? Or is it just a grease version of the same basic formula?

I could be wrong, but it works with the same principal, however the grease would be used in instances where the oil would move off of parts, or dry out quickly.
i.e. On hammer and such for Ar15 the first time you put them together, or on the reciever of an M1a1 so the lug stays greased.
You got a great deal if you paid for a small tube and got a large one.
try it out of some other weapons and other tools and such, you may find several great uses for it.
hope that helps

It's a regular grease that has the 10% (or whatever their recommended amount) already mixed into it.

Militec is the shit!  After using numerous others this is the stuff that works the best.  I clean the gun with M-Pro7 and then lube with Militec and use the grease inside the slide rails.  The people at Militec are as great as their product.  I have nothing but good to say about both.

I had the same experience.  I was expecting a small tube of the stuff.

I can’t help but suspect that this is made for use in cars and heavy machinery and such – not firearms!!

Like I said there, it's just a normal grease with already premixed with Militec-1.  You can make the same stuff by getting a tube of grease from Shucks/AutoZone/Kraagen/Wall Mart and mixing in whatever their recommended percentage of Militiec-1 is.

If you haven't checked this yet, it has all of the lube/grease uses and applications along with MSDS info which will include the ingredients.  Just FYI.

When they first started selling it they sent me a 2 ounce jar for free. Plus i pick up a 1oz sample for free every year at SHOT.  I dont think I'll ever use it all.  I'm still using Tetra grease on my rifles that use grease (M1, M1A, Mini-14, M1 Carbine.)  I dont use grease on AR's or handguns.

I got a one ounce sample in the mail a couple of years ago or so, I use it on the slide rails of all my pistols, I think it's great stuff, a little goes a long way that original sample has still got a little left, any idea where I can get another free sample???!!!......

Oh come on, it's only like $7 for a 14oz tube.
