Great looking gun ! A real beauty and another quality pistol from Bob Miller. I'm awaiting my Colt 1991 ORM Government from Bob. He called me the other day and was in the process of getting it back together when he decided the hard chrome on the slide wasn't up to his standards so he sent it back to the plater. I probably won't see it till later this month. |
the thumbnails pics are "clickable" for larger pics. Pulp, Oh yeah, if there's one thing I've learned from this experience is that I NEED a beavertail on my 1911's. I can't begin to describe how well it shoots. |

Thanks for the list. Couple of followup Q's if you don't mind?... What MIM parts does a Colt S70 re-issue have? I read that the sear and disconnect are MIM? What else? What's the deal with replacing the plunger tube, what's wrong with the factory part? Thanks |
Many people will pop off the plunger tube and re-install them. I will not. The price of a new tube is minimal compared to the bennifit for a new one. If I spend the time to polish the flats and build a custom rig, I don't want a plunger tube coming loose to ruin the reliability of the pistol. Staking of the tube means flaring out the ends of the posts. When you pop them off, generally the flare separates from the post. It's near impossible to get a good stake when that happens. The cost bennefit ratio leads me to refuse the installation of an old tube and only install a new tube when applicable. Bob |
Cool - thanks Bob |
