I've got this 1977 High Power that I picked up for a song back in 91. The gun had been stolen and recovered and while mechanically sound it was covered in surface rust when I got it. I had it Parked and carried it doing PI work for a couple years before it got stuck to the back of the safe. With the price of .45acp lately I decided to dust off the Browning and give it some range time. Well first thing I remembered was how much I disliked the adjustable rear sight................... so I got with one of the smiffs that hang out around here (Bob Miller of Miller Custom) and talked to him about making me a fixed rear sight that would work with the existing front sight. So I sent off the slide and this what Bob's come up with ......................... Soon as I have the slide back I'll add a picture of the finished product and a Range Report. |

Looks like it will have a great sight picture. I recently looked at an older Belgium made BHP (before deciding on a used Mark 3) and it had that same older style adjustable sight, and I must say the sight picture had no contrast at all and was hard to pick up, it appeared that the notch was too small for the front sight, just a poor image. I think you will be happy with your new irons. |

The new rear sight is the same height as the old rear sight. However it's not in my carry lineup. I'm leaning towards suppressor host. Oooooohhhhh. I have a spare BHP which I use as a suppressor host with the SWR Trident-9; it's a very reliable, accurate and fun platform. |
