I've got this 1977 High Power that I picked up for a song back in 91. The gun had been stolen and recovered and while mechanically sound it was covered in surface rust when I got it. I had it Parked and carried it doing PI work for a couple years before it got stuck to the back of the safe.

With the price of .45acp lately I decided to dust off the Browning and give it some range time. Well first thing I remembered was how much I disliked the adjustable rear sight................... so I got with one of the smiffs that hang out around here (Bob Miller of Miller Custom) and talked to him about making me a fixed rear sight that would work with the existing front sight.
So I sent off the slide and this what Bob's come up with .........................

Soon as I have the slide back I'll add a picture of the finished product and a Range Report.

That's going to be a pretty nice setup.  I have one with the beer barrel sights.  Not my favorite sights either.

If you're ever traveling through IL on I80 on a weekend, give him a call. The other stuff he's got is pretty cool. He showed me a Titanitum slide and frame build that he put together a couple years ago.

Pretty cool

Ok, I apologize for the crappy pics but my camera like a lot of other things around here is OLD.

The slide on the left (or bottom) is a spare off of my work bench that was given to me by ikor but is identical in configuration to the one I sent to Miller Custom. I've included it for comparison to the sight Bob made for me.

BEFORE

AFTER

The new sight picture is FAST to acquire and much easier on these old
eyes. I'll post a range report on how this new sight shoots when I get
to the range ... Thursday maybe.

Tag for when I can get to a computer to see the pics.  Bob did a build for me and it has been flawless so  far.   Good dude and a better smith.

Looks good, I'll have to ask for one when I get around to having him build a BHP for me!

Looks like it will have a great sight picture. I recently looked at an older Belgium made BHP (before deciding on a used Mark 3) and it had that same older style adjustable sight, and I must say the sight picture had no contrast at all and was hard to pick up, it appeared that the notch was too small for the front sight, just a poor image. I think you will be happy with your new irons.

Boy.. those came out TALL.  Bet it gives you a really quick sight picture.  Looks like it might impede a draw from an IWB holster.

The new rear sight is the same height as the old rear sight. However it's not in my carry lineup. I'm leaning towards suppressor host.

I have a spare BHP which I use as a suppressor host with the SWR Trident-9; it's a very reliable, accurate and fun platform.
