You neighbors Luger is a Wiemar re issue as noted by the 1920 property mark about the original manufacture date. It was issued to a police unit, you can see the sear safety just above the side plate and the filled in notch where the magazine safety was installed and then removed. I can't tell from your pics if the finish is original, but I am inclined to think that it has been re arsenaled. If you take and shine a  strong light on it, it should have a red glow. All that aside the value for this gun is in the shooter realm of $700-800 mainly due to the mis-matched side plate. Make sure they take care of the grips as they are nice and worth $150 by themselves.

How about an original 1915 Luger - or P08 - all matching numbers but the mags.  Rated at about 95%.  No pitting/rust of any kind.

Thanks
