OK, so I had a problem with the slide not locking open on empty.  Turns out the mag spring was kind of weak, and upon the advice of many I went to WolfGun springs and bought a new spring for it.  Now the problem is that it takes every bit of might to get the 10th round in, and when I do it's so tight I can't even get the magazine to lock into place.  Not even close.  Suggestions?  Throw mag away and go buy another?

full size .45?

Yeah my USPT does the same crap. I had no more than 100 rounds through the gun before my mags stopped holding the slide open entirely.

I also hate the full mag rattle I get when I stick a full mag in the pistol and it causes the middle rounds to bind.

I dont think im going to worry about it unless i get 12 rounders that do the same thing. The USPT is way too big for me to carry and i dont have any problems (yet) with my .357sig Compact... i dont think I'm going to either since ive got 500 rounds through it and it holds the slide back without the slightest problems.

Mags get better when loaded full & left that way for a week or two. As for inserting into the gun with a full mag, simply lock the slide back first so the top rd won't hit the bottom of the slide. Problem solved.

I use a HKS mag loader to make loading a bit easier.  I tend to just slam the mag in to get it to lock, which will work if you do it hard enough.
