Stainless Caspian frame and slide, hand fit by them.
EB Barrel/bushing/link
EB hardcore parts
WC Bulletproof parts
C&S hammer/trigger/sear/disconnector
I think a few EGW parts as well
Hand checkered by yours truly

I wish I could say it was a fun project, but it was a pain fitting all the parts.  The grip safety was troubling. WC sent out a stinker of a part so I went with Caspian.  My fingers are still sore from working the file
Popped its cherry yesterday and it functioned 100%.  Put 82 rounds down range with various mags, FMJ and hollowpoint ammo with no problems.  Shoots to poi, maybe a touch to the right but I am happy. The target below is a reduced silhouette shat at 10 yards, 82 rounds

Fine job. Your mentioned fitting not being fun.

Ha !

I liken most 1911 work as grunt work, especially hand sanding. Checkering definately falls within grunt work.
It's fun though.  I just layed slide, receiver combo down that's within ten thousanths of being fit.

When I get that close it's all handwork from there.

Precision Gruntwork. !

1911 looks nice.

Wow, man your grip safety looks fantastic, as does the rest. Seriously I'd be very proud. Great work.

I'm working up to this and I'll get there. More time!

Whew!  Sweet.
Very nice.  I want to try that, I am just worried that I won't be patient enough and screw it up.
Nice work!

Thanks for the replies.

I had some practice working on my Mil-Spec, such as the checkering and parts replacement/fitting.  This build was not too bad, but was quite a task when I look back and remember the pile of parts.  On my Springfield, I did it one part at a time over a year so it was a bit easier to undertake. The Caspian parts are great and would recommend them for a starter set.

Since I took the pictures, I made one modification to the Caspian.  I filed down the bottom 3 lines of checkering on the front strap.  They were sharp as heck and kept snagging on my shirt while carrying.  It is now pretty concealed carry friendly.
