Well fellas, I just traded off one of my Krink Kits for a SS Delta Elite 10mm. I am pretty pumped about it and I can't wait to get it in hand. I should have it the beginning of next week! It is a pre-enhanced model and has the modified frame cut to alleveate the frame cracking issues, if there were any real issues at all. It has a Serial # of DS07XXX. I spoke w/ Colt, Mfg. today and it left the factory in 1989. The previous owner bought it from his good friend who was the first and only owner prior to him. Neither one of them put many rounds through it. Suppossedly there is no internal wear to the handgun and no wear on the polymer recoil rod (hope that is correct). All parts, I was told, are orignal w/ the exeption of the Trijicon Night Sights that were installed by a smith less than a year ago. It shows some finish wear from holstering but other than that the external appearance looks good. I hope the internals look the same. Check out the pics below and let me know what you think. Oh, and for what it's worth, I plan on keeping it as original as possible w/ the exception of the sights and possibly a FLGR and new recoil spring. Let me know what you guys think. Pics from the ad are below...I am sure you have seen them if you visit the EE at all.

    Very nice snag there!

Stainless Deltas are sharp-looking. These guns definitely exude a COOL-factor, and it'll be interesting to see what Colt's done on the new stainless Deltas that are supposed to be released as a "limited run" later this year.

Mine was a little-fired, stock blue Delta. Almost mint. Shot it a while that way, then decided to go the custom route. I also used a FLGR for a time, and that was okay, but eventually switched over to a GI set-up with a 22lb Wolff recoil spring.

Story on mine is here: www.bren-ten.com/agtman/id10.html

    Hope you enjoy yours.

Target07, that is a very nice looking Delta you've scored there!  I really wanted a stainless, but wound up with a blued pre-Enhanced instead.  Mine is stock, except for the custom Delta Elite medallion Gunner grips (made by Tx4guns) and a fitted EGW flat-bottomed firing pin stop.

The EGW FB FPS is a highly recommended addition to any DE, as it helps retard rearward slide velocity w/o increasing forward velocity.

Congrads on the Delta Elite.  As a proud owner of a Delta Gold Cup, they are really neat. I have only put about ~1,000 rounds of my hand loads through my DGC and 100 factory, and I haven't had any problems so far. "knock on wood." The only difference between mine and yours, mines has the Colt Accro adjustable rear sight, and the Colt adj wide trigger.

The only problem of shooting 10mm, is the availability of inexpensive ammo.  Since I have been hand loading for the past 10 years or so, reloading my own is not a problem. I load the 10mm just a tad above equivalent factory 45ACP loadings, which makes for a very pleasant load to shoot. The problem is also loosing empty cases, every range session I always manage to loose a few cases, at 15¢ each, you can't afford to loose too many of them. You can also load full-house 10mm, but they are not all that pleasant to shoot, the cost differential is negligible, maybe a few hundredths of a cent.

BTW: I buy 10mm brass when I see the on sale. I haven't bought brass for a while but for a long time they were ~10¢ each delivered. I highly recommend Starline 10mm cases if you can find them on sale. Otherwise Rem, Win etc will do.

It's hard to resist the desire to trick out a stock Delta.

Mine had a lot of custom work, but there are several "minimalist" modifications you can do to a DE  - without changing its essential "out-of-the-box" appearance -  to enhance handling and performance with full-throttle 10mm loads.

Remember  - if all you want to do is shoot .40-level 10mm loads through it, it's good to go as is. Most people who invest in a 10mm pistol want mostly to shoot REAL 10mm loads, i.e., loads at the energy level for which the cartridge was designed.

ShankenNotStirred mentioned the EGW f.p. stop, and I agree, but be advised that the EGW FPS has to be properly fitted to be effective. Other minimalist mods are detailed at this link in a well-written article by another Delta owner. It's worth a read, IMO:

While I was out at Camp Perry for the National Pistol Matches, I bought a brass catcher from Champion's Choice.  Very nice, not too expensive, and it works quite well.
