I broke down and bought one last week from CDNN.  I'm not too fussy so I went with the "Grade B" pistol.  Ordered an extra used mag, and paid about $650 total.

I have never been an HK fanboy.  I have an HK91 that I bought in about 1980 while I was in the service.  Accurate, reliable, nice gun.  I don't think I've put 20 rounds through it since I got my M1A in 2000 or so.  I just like the M1A better.  I have used USP's and found them to be OK, they just don't do anything for me.

The P7...I like.

Finish on the gun is better than 98%, with barely noticeable holster wear.  From looking at the gun, it appeared to have maybe 100-200 rounds through it.   (maybe more or less, but little wear)  Internals all look new.  The "demo" mag was nearly new, and did not appear banged up at all.

Note: the mags are very thickly built.  I was looking at a promotional video from HK about these things where some guy raised a cinder block over his head and threw it down onto a mag on a concrete pad(P7 M13, I think) and then shot the mag empty.  After looking at how the mag is made, I can believe it.

I didn't have a lot of time to play, I just went to the range for a quick test session.  The gun ran a little over 50 rounds of WWB with no problems.  Accuracy was excellent, after a couple of mags to familiarize myself with the staple gun feature,
I was able to throw eight into a fist sized group at 25 yards.  Fast shots in close, 10-15 yards, have this goofy habit of going where I pointed the gun.  I'll have some time for a range visit in the next few days for a more detailed evaluation.

He did get a little hot around the area above the front of the trigger guard after about three or four mags, and by the time I had finished it got unpleasant to hold.  Long range sessions will have to include cooling time.

If the little stapler will run good hollowpoints, I'll be shopping for a holster.  This is a pretty neat gun and an adequate carry gun for those who can accept 9 sallymeters for defense.  I will probably be carrying it around, if HP's work.

Photo's maybe when I can figure out the whole digital camera thing the wife got me for X-mas.

I just picked up one of these also, I found a grade A unit in the box at a local dealer for a smoking good deal and just couldn't resist.  Mine works much like yours, accurate, fast to get on target and very reliable.  Great little gun.  If I didn't have so much time invested in training with Glocks it would probably become my CCW tomorrow...or as soon as I could find mags and a holster for it.

What? Don't you know guns are alway a "she"?

I just ordered a grade B, I hope it is as nice as you describe. The people I know that have them love their P7s.

I just fired a P7 for the first time last weekend. I really enjoyed it... so much so that I'm seriously considering trading my new Glock 19 for one. I was surprised how accurate and smooth shooting it was.

I got this Grade B back last September.  It quickly became my favorite.

Here is my grade A from last week.  Sadly I have not shot it yet.

RE:

I don't think I'd sweat P7's accepting jhp's..  Mine love DoubleTap 115grain jhps...  I'm waiting now for my FIST Kydex iwb holster to show up.

(All of mine came from CDNN too..)

JMOFartOpinion, but I think these surplus P7's are fantastic pistols and well worth the price.
