XDm Compact

For me, there is no finer platform than the XD line.  Yet another winner in the XD lineup...they're all winners.

that is what the original short barreled XDM should have been in the first place.

Oh man, I want one.

See, now I'll buy one. I wasn't about to buy the original 3.8, cause it wasn't really that compact. That's much smaller overall.

It's about time this came out.  I was waiting on this before I started shopping for my new concealed carry gun.

I actually prefer the 3.8 without the shortened grip, but I can see how some people would prefer a smaller gun.

Good job Springfield, now they only need to make a 10mm to make everyone happy.

Damn you Springfield, why do you do this to me? I had just made up my mind to get the XD sub-compact 9mm bi-tone as an addition to my carry gun collection, then you do this to me.

I now want the XDM sub-compact bi-tone but I worry Springfield will add a .45 to this line then I will be pissed I didn't wait.

10mm?  Didn't that die along with 357 sig and 45 gap?

I went to the local gun shop today and finger fucked on of these bad boys. They do look sweet and feel great in the hand. I never checked the weight but it felt a little front heavy, we loaded up the short mag (13 rounds, I think) and the balance was great.

My typical carry gun has been a Kahr CW.40 for over a year and if (I mean when) I purchase the XDM sub-compact it may take me a little while to adjust to the added weight. Although the extra rounds would be great piece of mind. I wanted to check out the XDM in .40 but there was not one available.

My wife has bought me a gun for Christmas every year for the last 4 years but because I now make considerably less money at work than years past, that will not happen this year. If it did, one of these would be under the tree for sure.

Will this be made in FDE and OD. Come on S.A. you can do it.

Where is the Shorter and Weaker version???

I love it, that will be my next handgun purchase.

Someone take a picture of and XD-9 sub-compact next to a XDm-9 compact.  If they make the Shorter and Weaker version I might be talked into selling all my XD-40s and switching to XDm-40 but well see.

Oh if when they make these in .45acp, I will replace my Glock 30 with one.

Should of kept "compact" the same length as the old 3 inch model.

will the XD subcompact mags work with this gun?

I have a XD 40 full size in OD Green and an XDM 9 full size all black, but I also want a sub-compact bi-tone. I have never sold a gun to finance another purchase and dont want to start now. I will just save for it and hpoefully by then Springfield will have a compact XDM .45 bi-tone.

Now if they would just make the XDM's closer in price to the XD's we would be set

You know, I've often wondered why the "cool" guys say that, given that the .40 S&W in general has more velocity and energy than your average .45 ACP.  I guess the "cool" guys refer to the .45 as the "Slowest & Weakest"?

The haters are going to hate.  If they do make a Shorter and Weaker version I will serious consider trading my XD-40's up to XDm-40's if I can have both a full size for competition and a sub-compact for carry.

That nickname refers solely to the fact that the .40 is a "shorter and (sometimes) weaker" 10mm.

Shorter and weaker? LOL

Is that a caliber insult phrase?

Holy crap, I don't know how I missed this! I've been too focused on building my SBR that I haven't looked at handguns in a while. This looks to be the perfect gun! I love my XD9 service but picked up an M&P9c for ccw since it's right between a G26 and G19 in size. This is similar size to my M&P9c but has +1 round and comes with a mag extension.
