The WW2 Japanese “Nambu Pistol” is in 8 x 22mm Nambu caliber. It’s a necked down pistol cartridge similar (but smaller) in appearance to a Tokarev (7.62 x 25mm) cartridge. The cartridges are rarely made and the ones that are made are very expensive. The bullet is .320 dia. and the rim is .413. Has any body made a conversion to either a .32 round or better yet a .380/ 9mm cartridge? Will a 9mm Luger cartridge fit into a Nambu magazine? Anybody seen any info, articles or leads to conversion parts kits? I’m interested in a Nambu pistol because it’s something different, they can be picked up for $500, but I’d like to shoot it with a more common cartridge…..I have seen Nambu cartridges as low as a buck a shot, but the fun would be setting it up to fire something cheap like a 9mm or .380.
