Its my understanding that you can't carry in the National Forest while hikeing, ect. You can keep it in your vechical. A bicycle is a vechical right? I live in TN and want to know if this would be legal.

National Forest is totally fine.

National Parks are not.

Note that often National Parks are near National Forest, so be careful.

Growing up, my dad always packed in National Parks.

I dont know about National Forests.  I know for WMA's in TN you are technically only allowed to carry during the gun portion of deer season (or you could carry a blackpowder pistol during muzzleloader).  There was a discusion about it last year in the HTF.  I just moved from there last year and I would say carry.  I carried during all the deer seasons, and that included scouting.  The national forest in the NE part of the state had plenty of black bears.  I would carry if I was going hiking, fishing, camping, etc.

Shhh.  Did you hear that?  I think I just heard dueling banjos..............

Out of sight, out of mind.

Around here we hunt (legally) on National forest & BLM, the state is 1/2 public land, so it's got to be legal.

I miss that about Oregon, a lot.  BLM land.  Drive out anywhere you want and start shooting, as long as it's safe.
