Hello all,
            I just received a model 66-1 from a friend.  I was wondering if anyone has a serial number ID guide, or know of a website to find out when the gun was made ?
The serial # is 37K35XX.  Thanx for any help......

EDIT: Maybe some kind person has a Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson that could look it up ?    that would save me calling S&W and waiting on hold forever.......thanx

Dash 1's were made from 1977 to 1982. Someone will be along shortly to narrow it down to a specific year.

SCSW says 1978-79 for the serial number range.

I have a 66-something kicking around here.  They're nice guns.  Current wisdom is to try to stay away from the 125 grain .357mag loads and shoot 158s when you go magnum in the K-frame.
