Hi guys I need some help deciding on which 1911 I should get. I have been looking at the
SA Loaded model, the STI Duty One, or the Double Star 1911. I don't know which one to get I wish I could have all three but unfortunately I can only have one so which would be the best choice? |

Have never fired any of those, but do have a Springfield GI. It shoots okay, but is really picky about what mags I can use in it. Factory mag will not even feed ball ammo with a full clip. Also the factory extractors on SA are made from MIM.
I have read that SA Loaded models have problems, then have also read the argument that SA is the cat's meow. I guess with 1911's as with anything else there are conflicting opinions. Apparently though the TRP Operator is supposed to be pretty awesome. Not sure what your price range is. You will probably laugh when I throw this out there, but my first 1911 was a PT1911. I know I know...."Taurus Sucks".............that is what I thought for a long time too. I came upon mine sort of by accident. I went to a gun show (Glock 30, and SW686 in hand) looking to trade for a 1911. Wanted a colt, but got talked in to the PT1911 by a dealer who uses one for competition. Traded my 686 for it straight up. It was a great trade. My PT1911 shoots so freaking great, I don't know how anyone could say one bad thing about them. It is the best shooting gun I have fired to date.....until tomorrow when I take out my brand new Kimber for it's first range session. Hell I am not even sure it will be leaps and bounds above my Taurus. I expect the Kimber to perform a little better, but that Taurus is very, very smooth and accurate. I know that wasn't the answer to your question, just thought I would chime in.......need to get my posts up. |

I don't know much about the Doublestar...it's still new.
The STI is GTG as is the SA Loaded. The thing is most Duty One's go for $1300 and most Loaded's are around $800...so I don't think you can compare them. For the $1300 price range I'd pick up a SA TRP from BudsGun's. |

I would agree with this for 1300 get a TRP and it is made in America the Loaded is made in Brazil if it has an N serial number NM is America. But the TRP for the money is a great pistol. |
