Hello,

I've found a Kimber Custom 1911, not a Custom II locally for sale. Could some of the forum members please share your experiences with the pre Custom II guns?
And also share with me what the value is? Only 50 rounds fired, a Younkers NY gun, and blue finish. The seller said it was 6 or 7 years old.

Thanks.

The non-II models are a bit older than 6-7 years.

No Swartz, right?

From what little information I found the pre custom II does not have the Schwartz or series 80 safety. I thought this version was older than 7-8 years also. Are these accurate and reliable? Custom barrel, etc? Thanks.

$800-$1000 in my book if it has all original items is what it'd be "worth" but I'd try to buy it outright for $700 if ya can.  I only have about 13 Series I or Pre Series II's and a couple of em' are Clackamas roll marked so I am no expert but have found quite a few great deals on them, that is the only reason they are in my safe.

I have four 1911s, a pre Series II Custom, 2 Colts and a Springfield Armory. I like them all but the Kimber is by far the best shooter and most accurate of the four.  I bought it new in '99 (IIRC), have shot the heck out of it; no problems what so ever.  I've made a few changes to it because I wanted to, not because I needed to.
