Just bought a Colt Night Officer II at the pawn shop, just wondering if this was a special run of colts, about how much it would be worth. It's in good shape, looks like someone shot it and never cleaned it. The magazine is a chromed colt mag. Don't know if this is what came with it or not. Anyway if anyone has any info or can direct me to the information, I would be thankful. ST |

You'll get more info on the 1911 forum, and the Colt forum: www.1911forum.com/forums/ www.coltforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php Bottom line, in the late 1980's to mid-1990's Colt turned out a number of variations of the Colt 1911 in limited run models. These were all basically different combinations of slides and frames from the full sized Government Model, the Commander, and the Officer's ACP. They had names like the Night Commander, Night Officers, Tank Commander, Commanding Officer, and on and on. As example there would be one version with a Commander length slide and barrel on an Officer's Model frame, and another version with an Officer's Model slide on a full sized frame. These had special markings, grips, and often features like night sights, and ambidextrous safety and finishes. The total production of these various models was usually less than 2000, and often less than that. I seem to remember some models were made in less then 500 gun runs. |
