Just bought a used DE .357mag & the rear sight is SO loose you can take it out of the dovetail with two fingers. I've found Millett adj sights on the MR web sit for $76 but they also charge another $60 to install them.

Do I have any options?

Truthfully, unless you need to make major elevation changes, I would just loctite the factory rear sight in place.

The Millet rear sight is way too narrow for the slide, and you end up with the BB in Box car kind of look.

Thanks for the info. Problem is, I'd have to have it sighted in before I loc-tite it in. Every time I shoot it, the damn sight moves around. PITA!

I might try to shim it a bit first?

Take the sight off and use a prick or center punch and punch some dimples on the BOTTOM of your loose rear sight. The expanded metal from the dimples might raise it up enough to get is sighted in.
Once sighted in use some green or wicking grade loctite and your done.

You could carefully dimple the dovetail surface on the rear sight as well.

The dovetail is one area I prefer to NOT monkey with in case I want to install something else down the road.

I believe I might try your other suggestion(s) & hope they might work. Thanks for the input!

The Trijicon night sights are quite a bit larger and I actually had to shave mine down to fit my dovetails.  All that's needed for installation is a brass drift punch, a hammer, and a small file to make adjustments

I don't know if I'd want to invest the $ for Trijicon's on the DE just yet. But thanks for the tip!

I've done this many times and it is the easiest, least expensive solution and requires no extra parts.

Most likely this is what I will do.
