[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need another 9mm (Page 1 of 2)

So I was pondering the other night about getting another 9mm. After debating for a few minutes I decided I do in face need another. It would be a range fun gun, so I don't care it is polymer or metal and capacity is a non-issue.
So the choices I'm thinking about are: FNX 9 Beretta 92fs Walther PPQ CZ 85 Combat Browning Hi Power M&P 9 P30 This is a hard one for me. |

Hard to beat the CZ for a range gun, but there is not a bad weapon on your list. I have an FNX-9 and a CZ 75B, and I will say the CZ is more accurate than the FNX, but not by much. Get the one that works the best for you. I'll definitely pick the one thats best for me. I'm just looking for peoples input/experience with any of these guns. I have handled all but the CZ and they all feel great in my hand. Read a lot about each one too. Thats why its hard to choose. |

(Though the P30, PPQ and FNX are all very good in the grip dept.) Honestly, IMHO, the best grip out there. The first time I held a CZ 75 I bought it, my Glock 17 was gone the next day. |

Have you shot them all? Personally I would exclude the CZ and the BHP from the list due to the way they fit my hands, and the HK P30 and PPQ both have extended slide release levers that are placed right where my thumbs ride. No haven't shot them all. Actually the only one I have shot is the 92fs. Slide release levers don't get in my way, I'm left handed. I've held my buddy's BHP, but haven't shot it yet. It did fit my hand though. And like I said in my other post the CZ is the only one I haven't handled. |

A left-handed buddy of mine always bitches about being able to feel the exposed trigger bar on the Berettas. May not bother you, though. |

Its been a long time since I fired the 92fs. I don't remember it bothering me though. Something I will look into. Quoted:
Of the ones you listed 1) 92 FS 2) M&P 9 You will fall in love with the M&P, and use it more than any other pistol you own. Unless the other pistol you have is a 1911. I have a few other guns. 1911 is one of them. That is the one gun that always seems to make it to the range when I go to shoot one of my others |

Have you considered a Caracal? The fullsize Caracal F has a pretty narrow comfortable feeling 18rd grip, the compact Caracal C feels slightly blockier to me but also very nice 15rds.
They have a nice constant 4.5lb triggers with positive reset, have a low bore axis for soft recoil and almost instantly are back on target after firing. They are quality made and point naturally for me and most others that have tried them. They are also only $399 shipped from Centerfire Systems. |

duplicate of whatever your normal carry gun is? if not, then Beretta, Hi Power, or M&P. I live in the CRAP state of New Jersey. We cannot carry thanks to the people who "run" this state. The only way I can carry is getting and Florida or Utah non-resident permit, but still can't carry in NJ even with the permit. |

Not on your list
linky im gonna grab one before the price shoots up on them and i regret it.

Look at the HK USP 9/40/45. Lefty here as well with an HK USP 9 and HK USPC 40/357Sig. |

Glock 34 Um....no. Sorry not a glock fan at all. That just means there is something wrong with you not the Glock Lol. I don't hate glock and I can shoot them. I just prefer other handguns out there. Something some glock fanboys don't understand |

This is the best "new" handgun I've shot in a long time. |

I would get it in 40cal only I hate how P229 R in 9mm didnt stick with the 228 spec / extractor It has the long ass extractor unlike the other P line 225/226/239/228 I dont reccomend any P229 in 9mm and I carry a Sig P229 40 without rail. |

You forgot Sig 226. From your list, I'd get the P30 because I want one. I didn't forget the 226. I already decided I want that one along with another 9mm. But I want the 226 in a .40. I shot one years ago and shot it better than anything I have to date. Don't know why I want it in a .40, I guess since that is the caliber I shot last time I want to have the same gun. Basically what I am doing is trying to buy: Sig 226 1911 4" and a 9mm (undecided) |

I do have a P2000sk in 9mm that is a tremendous 9mm subcompact. Have you considered a sub? That one's the best. |

The triggers on the HK's are designed by engineers, not shooters. I have to hold my breath when I say it, but the Sig 226/9 is also a good shooter. Either go with the older folded sheet metal slide version, or the newer X6 ($$$$). The older Sigs had an amazing lockup to the barrel lugs. Brick shithouse construction and a very interesting, overbuilt gun (except for the damn pinned-in breech ).
