[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need help. What the hell is this?

I pulled my slid apart to do some work and where the firing pin and spring goes out came this plastic sleeve. It looks alitle deformed from heat or something. At first I thought it was the spacer sleeve but as you can see its in the pic. So any help? Thanks
Oh this is a Glock 23 3rd Gen.

It's the channel liner. Very messed up from heat. Has the slide been refinished? Pt# 35 in your owners manual.

ETA: What type of gun cleaner have you been using(if any)?

I to just read that in the manual. Yes it was refinished by Robar a month ago. Must been from baking the paint? Thanks again. Will have to order another one.

The folks at Robar should know better then to bake the slide with the internal parts in the slide.

Just to be safe I would replace the springs, spring cups, slide cover plate and the spacer sleeve.

I agree. I have had ROBAR refinish 4 of my hanguns in the NP3 and this one in Roguard. Have never had a problem just great work. I don't know what happened here. Thanks again HotRod for your help. Take Care.

Is there anyone out there who is a Glock Armor? So I can order one. Glock will only ship internal pats to a Glock Armor. Not even if your LE will they ship you one.

Man, I thought that part was left by aliens...I was like: "What the heck???"

Anyways, since you're in Nevada, there will be a GSSF tournament in your state this month. Go to the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation website for details. They always have Glock armorers there that'll fix your Glock for free. Just don't tell them you had it Robarred.
