I have a new G41 with factory adjustable sights.
I'm looking to replace the factory sights with either Ameriglo Operator GL-149, or Trijicon GL04Y. Both appear nearly identical, yellow and green, similar price, with the Trijicons having more prominent rear dots due to white encircling the tritium. Are there any other discernible differences or advantages to either sight? I'm also considering this sight pusher. All opinions and suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks! |

Im a big fan of Dawson Precision sights....Their CS is outstanding, their shipping is FAST, and their sights are quality....They even GIVE you the proper sight too for the front sight, AND an aluminum punch for the rear sight, (if thats how you roll) You can go black, FO, or tritium.
I have them on my PPQ, G19, (waiting on my Blue Label Gen4 G34 which will have them) and my VP9 had them before it got RMR'd. |
| I'm interesting in a rear sight pusher as well is there any reason not to get the one in his post? Anybody have experience with it? I've used a punch before and don't like doing it that way, and I now have so many glocks I would like to not be dependent on the local store for installations. |

This is the sight pusher I have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Handgun-Sight-Pusher-Tool-Universal-for-front-or-rear-1911-Glock-Sig-and-Others-/161096823767
On sights I like Heinie Slant Pro Straight Eight but it is all preference. I would recommend going all green as the other colors fade much faster over time. |

I prefer to have sights with a more prominent front sight, which is why both of my 19s have Trijicon HDs. So given your two options, I would get the Ameriglos hands down. I did end up buying the Trijicon HDs with orange front sight. I absolutely agree with the more prominent front sight, and couldn't be happier with their performance. The sight pusher worked as advertised and I easily installed my own sights without modification. Thanks to everyone for your replies! |
