I'm looking at getting a new full/mid size 9mm and I am having trouble deciding. Right now it's between a CZ P-07, Beretta M9A1 or a Sig P320 Carry. This would be a HD/Range gun. I have a CCW but never carry because it is hot as hell in Tampa. I've got a PX-4 in .40 so I have no problem with the slide mounted safety. I have an M&P compact 9 so I also have no preference for striker fired vs. hammer. I don't like Glocks, even though it has been years since I handled one. I really want a Sig P226 Mk.25 but it's a little out of my price range. I've always liked the Beretta 92"s but haven't ever fired one. The CZ SP-01 looks nice but it is hard to find and seems a little heavy. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't speak to the CZ or Sig as I haven't shot them (did shoot a mag thru buddy's Sig P320, seemed alright), but I love my Berettas.  I have a 96 Inox and a 92 Compact (M9A1 Compact is what it shows).  That 92C is a sweet shooter.  I put a D-spring, Wilson Combat low-profile safety, and set of VZ grips on it.  Great tack driver and nice Fall/Winter carry gun as it's about the size of a G19.  My Berettas have never given me a problem or malfunction.

Wait WHAT?  I live in SOUTH Texas and it is never to hot to carry.  Unless you are wearing a bikini a way always exist.

That is what makes the SP-01 so great the ability to run the pistol fast and hard the weight make recoil nothing.

No one can really answer the question you asked all three are good to go pistol.  I would probably take the P-07 with a CGW trigger job.  Second I would choose the P320 because I have a bias against the Beretta.

I had a P-07 a few years ago. It's biggest failing was accuracy, but also was not user friendly to work on. ETA the shape of the trigger was awful!

I recently bought a 320c. Ran a box of ammo through it. It is accurate, very user friendly to work on, and comes with night sights. I'm getting a sub compact grip module and mags for CC, and full size mags with their extension thingy to open carry with the compact frame.

Have not shot the Beretta.

M9A1 or SP-01 are both excellent choices.

As for the "too hot to carry" that's a bunch of nonsense.  When I go to Florida I live in cargo shorts with S&W 442 revolver in my pocket, it carries so well I forget I even have it on me...

Sounds to me like you should spend your money on a new carry gun you will actually carry.  To which I would recommend a S&W 642 (stainless cylinder) or a LCP, either of which in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster.

Lots of good small 9mm exist now as well...... Tons of holster options exist as well that fit any attire.
I carry when I bike ride and and anywhere else.  I live in a hot environment almost all year.

I agree, and I would have recommended the G43 for that role, but OP does not like Glocks <shrug>

Walther PPS M1\M2 Ruger LC9 LC9s, XDs, Shield, Sig 938 just to name a few.  I think the G43 is a good pistol but I hate shooting it just to damn small for my dinner plates for hands.  PPS M1 for me.

I'm on the other side of the fence,

I only desire a "smaller" handgun for times I'm wearing shorts and flip-flops and want to pocket carry.  All the above options with the exception of the P938 are too big for pocket carry, and need to be carried IWB.  If I'm going to carry IWB, it's going to be a double stack, which is why my primary carry pistol is a G19.

Personally I believe the G43 is even pushing it for pocket carry, which is why I still opt for my J-frame.

YMMV

I was planning on eventually getting a LCP or LC9 for pocket carry. This would be for around the house. It has been about 10 years since I've picked up a glock. Maybe I'll check them out again and consider a 19. As far as the carry issue, I get hot easily and try to wear light clothing as much as possible. I've never gotten used to the humidity and heat here but I'm stuck so my carry will probably have to be pocket. Thanks for the input.

What holsters have you tried....?  I live in the same hot humid climate so I get it.  I also wear an undershirt to keep from getting hot spots where my holster and spare mag ride.  Undershirts seems to sounder counter intuitive but when it is really hot outside light layers will keep you cooler preventing your sweat from drying to quickly.  Do you think middle eastern people wear multi layer robes for fun........  they may stink like shit but they are a lot cooler in those things.

Honestly I haven't tried any holsters yet. I haven't really been to concerned with carrying until recently. Most of the shorts that I've worn for a while seemed too light to carry with. I worked outside for a long time and got used to wearing gym shorts or thinner cargo shorts.  Don't wear a belt much either, so pocket carry seemed better. Now that it's starting to cool down and I'll wear a little heavier stuff I was going to try out some holsters to try them out. I have learned to wear undershirts so when I get hot I don't sweat through. I would probably carry my M&P compact. Any holster recommendations to try out?

I have both the CZ-P07 and the Sig P-320 compact..... both are great shooters... I like the SA/DA guns a lot , but fell in love with this P-320.  very short reset and great trigger right out of the box.  I bought it as my carry, but really enjoy it at the range. and because it is modular I can buy different kits in different calibers and keep the exact same trigger.

Remora holsters work great in gym shorts but not great with heavy pistols I usually carry a PPS for this purpose.  I also bike so I wear a belly band made by Pisrol Wear the PT-2.  As for shorts and pants you need to look into a belt and a good carry belt not just some cheap leather belt from JCPenneys.  I have an Ares Gear Aegis belt personally and love it because I can adjust the tension on the fly when I sit down or if I need it tighter I can tighten up in seconds.

Do you want to carry IWB or OWB or AIWB?

I'd probably go IWB or AIWB. The Remora looks nice. I like all the options. There was a Desantis I was looking at online. I'll probably try a couple holsters with a regular belt and shorts before I drop the money on a special belt. The Ares Gear is pricey. Thanks for the suggestions.

I've read a lot of good things about the P-320. I didn't like the P-250, but I've heard the 320 is a completely different and better gun. I'm leaning towards either the P-07 and 320 but I've had a thing for the Beretta 92 since I was a kid(Die Hard and Lethal weapon). I've heard they all shoot well. I need to find a place to rent them. Thanks.

I did exactly this buying random belts over the years and wasted so much money till I finally bit the bullet and dropped the coin for a good one.  Trust me on this buying cheap belts will run you the same cost in the long run if not more.
