Hey, all. I need to find a holster for a 1911 with Surefire X300.

I work armed private security, mainly in bars. It was recently decided that we should open carry our weapons during the weekdays (we wear full duty belts on the weekends- mostly because of the type of crowd we get on those days). I'm looking for a "plain-clothes" type of holster, preferably black, with some type of retention mechanism. I wear a Safariland 6360 on my duty belt, and I'd like something similar to the ALS, but I'm open to other options, as well.

Any recommendations? Also, if you could post a source for your recommendation, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

You're going to get about 23478278282 Raven Concealment replies on here...if you can wait 4+ months have at it my friend. Though, they are only friction retention type holsters from what I've seen.

I have a nice AKER Flatsider leather belt holster with a thumb break snap for a Glock. I never really use it, it came in a trade and pretty much just sits there because it's not really my "thing" but it looks nice.

Milt Sparks is another nice OWB leather holster maker...again...beware the lead times.

Depends what specifically you're looking for I guess. I mean the SERPA is pretty simple and affordable and has a well known/used retention system by a lot of LEO's and stuff...but I'm not so sure they make them for 1911's with lights.

LOL. Yeah, I'm expecting the RC replies. Not quite what I'm looking for, though.

I thought Safariland made an off-duty holster for 1911s with lights, but I wasn't able to find anything like that on their website. I think it had just the ALS, not the SLS that the 6360 comes with. Any truth to this?

ETA: I'm using a SERPA as an interim solution right now. You're right, they don't make it compatible with the X300. Having the light on the gun is kinda a big thing for me.

Custom molded kydex or leather is about the best bet I think when it comes to having the light ON the gun as a mandatory feature.

I'm bracing for impact here...but I'd suggest Pitbull Tactical. It's molded Kydex with friction type retention though,  but he does have just about all 1911 sizes and the X300 listed as options. All his holsters come with both IWB and OWB loops.

I got a 4" 1911 holster from him in less than two weeks.
