If you have trouble finding one, I imagine any machinist that has the slightest clue what they
are doing could mill a slide to your specs pretty easy.

To be honest with you I have tried searching but, I really do not know what I am looking for in terms of name and where I should be looking if possible I would like to get it from a retailer and not have to go through the hassle of going to a machinist and what not, though if that is my only choice I will do that.

Thank you for your quick reply,

Not certain but it looks like the logo on the grip says STI. I would try them for that slide. It also appears to be a slab sided slide instead of the typical rounded top or rounded top that has been milled flat.

If you just want the top flat then any good smith with a mill should be able to do it but I would prefer a pistolsmith to do it.

The slide looks like a Caspian with a flat top and Bo-Mar rear sight cut.

Can't see the pics, but it could be what is called a Tri-top. A tri-top is 3 flats milled into the top of the slide.

Yep, that's right.

Back in the mid-90s, we attacked and developed a setup to run the very best 1911 slides ever built ... at least at that time ... and to my knowledge, they have not been surpassed, maybe tied, but not surpassed.

I'd say you're gonna have to get a smiff to machine a slide for you.

Ok I went on there website and it seems like the only options they have for a slide are a the round ones and one called the Snake Skit? What is this? If I wanted to could I give a special request for the specific slide I want to Caspian? I might even want to get a full Caspian model they have the recon which looks awesome.

Thanks for the replies.

Correctly hardening the slide is left as an exercise for the reader.
