| Probably a 1920 Commercial DWM in 30 Luger. Most in 30 Luger (7.65 parabellum) some in 9mm. Probably does not have a chamber date. Current name amoung some collectors is an AlphabetDWM Luger. Look under the four digit serial number at the front of the FRAME above the trigger guard viewed from the muzzle (make sure it is unloaded first) There should be a script letter under the four numbers. Most 1920 Commercials will be in the "i" thru "s" serial block range. Excellent reference book is "Weimar Lugers" by Jan C Still. Not a rare Luger but next is to take more pics, check all parts for the matching two numbers on individual parts (could not see the ones on top of the DWM toggle link) Check condition, rust bluing vs salt bluing, small parts strawed and fire blued vs salt blued. The take down lever appears to be blued not strawed but that could be the lighting. Inside of receiver forks and mag well of frame should be in the "white" not blued. Proper mag will be folded and crimped with nickel or tin plated with wood bottoms. More pics are required. The Luger forum will tell you the same thing. |
