I have a Norinco I got from my Dad just a plain Jane 1911. I am planning on picking up another 1911 and want to get a nice one. I have looked around and don't know what I want
I like the overall look of the S&W's but I kinda want to get one with an internal extractor. I would rather not have the Ambi-Saftey but it is not a biggie if it does. I want it to have Novak sights. I want it to have a magwell (I just like the look mainly). I do like the look of some of the custom styles of backstrap and front "stippling" (I know that is not the correct term ). I want it to have cocking serations at the front and I like the finer (more LPI) ones.
I would like to spend as little as posabile but can go up to $1500. So any advice you care to give in any way to help me find what I seek would be greatly apricated. |

I'd buy another TRP in a minute if I needed another high-quality 1911. I've also had the STI Trojan, and it's a finely crafted 1911 also. I've also had the Kimbers.I had a lot of experience with the TLEIIRL, but the equivalent without internal extractor is the Warrior.
Any of those would be less than 1500. |

TRP or a Les Baer IMO. Just got back from the range with my LB Premier II and I gotta say, you can tell the difference in a quality 1911 vs. a production gun. Im still learning about Baers so I can't recommend a specific model for you, but I know they make one very close to your specs. Just dont settle on something. If what you want is out of your price range then save a bit longer. You wont regret it. |

Used Les Baer TRS
Has everthing you want, nothing you don't. Springfield TRP Has everything you want except a fine 25-30LPI front strap...SA uses 20LPI. Or you can do a custom Springfield MC Operator...start with a base gun of $1100 + $335 custom work: 25lpi front strap checkering: $120 Install Springfield 2-piece MSH with magwell $135 Re-finish the frame with black Armory Kote $80 Has everything you want, nothing you don't. I'd get the TRS. |
