Well, I don't really need it, mine works, but it's a pain in the ass.  I want one that you don't have to use an allen wrench or other tool to take apart.  What are my options?  MJD

I like the Ed Brown GI length recoil spring plug and guide rod.  Nice machining and good finish, they feel very solid.

Are these the ones: www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=230053 and www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=540296?  Let me know since I'm ordering a bunch of stuff from Midway today.  MJD

Got the new Ed Brown parts yesterday.  Installed them with no problems and they seem to work fine.  It seems to have loosened the pistol up a bit since I'm not using the full-length guide rod anymore.  It just seems a littl more "rattly" when you shake it around.  It never did that before.  Shouldn't hurt anything, but I just wanted to mention it for input.  MJD
