First, pics: Attached File Attached File Next the issues and questions. Straight out of the box, no oil, cleaning, etc, first cylinder, .38, fired fine. Second cylinder .357, fine. Third cylinder, .38, after the second round the 3rd and 4th were like a super fast double tap, but I wasn't trying. Then I realized it wasn't locking when I cocked it after firing the first round because it did it again on the 5th and sixth rounds. And then I could recreate the issue unloaded. It's like I lose the first two clicks, hear the last two, and the hammer doesn't stay back. The trigger seems to be locked all the way back during this. If, when I know I'm only getting the 2 clicks, I pull the hammer back all the way and release it, it seems top jog loose the trigger again, and it will cock like normal on the next round. (I'm using snap caps.) I did remove the grip and trigger guard the first time this happened, because I couldn't figure out how to get it unlocked. Removing the grip didn't release it, but the minute I removed the second screw by the trigger guard, it reset. I put it back together, but it still seems to occasionally lock up. I have not cleaned it yet, I'm heading out to spray it really good with CLP top see if that helps, before calling customer service. Any advice? |

Got a call from them today. The tech said he was about to ship it back and apologize that he couldn't replicate the issue no matter how hard he tried. He stepped away from his bench, and a co-worker was able to get it to malfunction. The tech said he tore it down and couldn't find anything wrong. Out of curiosity he said he measured the trigger, and it was about a thousandth of an inch too big, and was getting hung up inside (randomly). He filed it and reassembled, and said everything seemed to be working properly, but that he was going to take it out to the range to test fire it before returning it. I'm glad I sent it in. |
