Wanting to pick up a new 1911 and need some help. I have narrowed it down to 4 choices though i'm not married to them. Give me your pick or a suggestion. i want to keep it around $2000 or less but I'll stretch if i can be convinced.
1. Springfield MC 1911 2. Kimber Desert Warrior 3. Nighthawk GRP 4. Wilson Combat Full Size CQB Here's what I'm thinking. What says you? |

Like Alphaghost said, that is a broad range you spec. |
| I know the 4 listed are kinda all over the place but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to get. I can afford them all, but flip back and forth between them. I figured i would leave it up to everyone on this website and another that I posted the same question on. |
| what is their intended use? plinking, home defense, used as a CCW? if for HD and as a CCW and if money is not a problem, then #4, would be my first choice followed by #3. #2,#1, aren't in the same league as as #3,4, If you want it s a range toy, target shooting, plinker then #1,#2, would work well. #3,#4 are much higher in overall quality than #1,#2, and are of a higher build quality, they were intended to be used as a CCW and for HD, #1,2 could be brought up to that same level, (they have high quality frames slides, and barrels) but would need some 'smithing to get them there, and by the time you paid for all that, you'd probably have as much,or more in it then if you went out and bought#3,#4 in the first place... |
| I'm getting alot of Wilson combat votes. I liked the idea of customizing a 1911 to my preference; thats why I have the Operator as a choice. I would probably dump a signifigant amount of cash into it as well. I use a HK P30 and on occasion a USP 45c for work when I'm not state side but probably won't be using the 1911 for those purposes unless I can get some good training and enough time to feel comfortable with the platform. I actually kind of want a non-railed version for once, it would be the only firearm I own without some form of light attachment. I've been looking a Les Bears and Ed Brown but need to limit my choices so I can make a decision. I feel like a woman lloking at purses right now. |

I'd replace that Kimber on your list with a Brown and decide from there. |
