Just picked up a new 24/7 Pro DS in Stainless.  $312.  Seemed like a buy too good to pass up.
Anyone have some experiences with the .40?

Went to the range today and took the 24/7 with me.  Mixed emotions.
The gun performed flawlessly for a few hundred rounds.  No FTF or FTE.

Only thing is accuracy is terrible.  By far the worst I've got right now.  I hope it improves but not sure.  At 15 yards I'd aim about a foot higher than the bullseye and still couldn't find the sweet spot.

I got a 24/7 Pro C DS in 9mm a few weeks ago, it functions flawlessly but I was having the same issue with accuracy. I don't know if it was the "Ribber Grip" on mine or what but I couldn't even find the target at first. After 400 rounds in two weeks I figured the gun out and can hit pretty much dead-on at 10 yards or less. That is all I need for a defensive gun but at first I was very disappointed. Give it time and concentrate on your grip the next time you go out.

I have the 9mm version, it's the only one of my seven pistols that when using a laser boresighter is spot on. The only time I missed the 10 ring was in some rapid fire drills. 15 tens and two 9s at 15 yds

A lot of people have reported having trouble with the Heinie Straight 8 sights.  You have to concentrate on making the two dots line up into a perfect figure 8, with the top dot covering your POA.  When I first got mine I noticed myself shooting low as well.  The more you shoot with it, the more you get used to it.  It's not like your Grammaw's three-dot sight picture.

every taurus i own new out of the box took some time to hone in on its accuracy. i'd say once you get a good 500+ rounds down the pipe you'll be good. the straight 8's do take some time to get used to. keep on practicing and it'll come to you.
