Beretta J90C9F20 92FS Compact 9mm Double Action 13 round Stainless Steel

I had the standard Compact which is the same without the rail. Comparing it to my 92FS and Elite, it wasn't all that much shorter and just as wide. Think a Centurion slide with a slightly shorter grip. Some will be fine carrying it, but I also don't dress around my gun.

They should of made it a single stack like the M Compact model.

Nice pistols. I had the stainless version a month or two ago (traded it for a 1911). I think of it as Beretta's version of the SIG P229.

I still have a non-railed Inox Compact - one of my favorite 92 variants.

I'm very temped by the blued (not really I know) version.  My first carry gun was a 92FS Compact, and I really miss it.  Actually, it would be a sure thing without the rail, but I'll probably get one anyway, provided the 13 round magazines are available.

I think it looked better without the rail. I guess I don't see the point in making a compact pistol and then putting a light on it and making it bulkier, I keep my lights on full sized pistols.

If you only own one handgun, and no other guns for home defense, then you can keep the light on it when you have it at home with you.

I don't know if it will sell well, it seems that polymer-framed, striker-fired guns are more popular now.  But I do think that older guys who have owned 92 variants over the past decades
might be interested.

I like the look of that stainless. I already have a compact though... Holsters and mags are hard enough to find, hopefully this will help.

Hmm.

More shit that nobody wants.

A bulkier version of their already too-big compact version of their huge 9mm.

Yep nobody wants these.
Thats why after a small run of them last year that Beretta sold very fast they decided too make more, because nobody wants them.

That's not a compact , it's a Centurion ( compact slide on full frame) I picked it  many years ago on my 21st birthday. My first handgun . Never getting sold !

I don't understand why they introduce a gun for concealed carry but yet doesn't have a dovetailed front sight.

He rode the slide stop in that video.  No lock back.  LOL.

Anyways....  Do you all think it would be too bulky for carrying?

Bulky for sure, but I think there's a market of 92 owners hungry for anything smaller that still uses the same magazines.

Nice pistols.

I handled the ones in the photo at the SHOT Show.

All the benefits of the full size 92 but slightly more compact and now they have the rail which is nice IMO.

But I will say that a person is either comfortable carrying a full size duty pistol concealed, or they are not.

The fact that these are a tiny bit shorter in the butt (yes I said butt) is not going to make a tremendous difference.

Fat chunky girl is still fat chunky girl, she just went from 5'10" to 5'4".

Personally I like them but agree that if this is a CCW only gun the rail may be questionable but not a deal breaker. I do think it's funny though when people talk about how the 92 compacts aren't and they are hard to conceal and so on. They are within a few hundreths of an inch in width from a Glock and aside from a longer barrel, nearly identical in all other dimensions to a G19 and yet that is the end-all, be-all for soooo many people.

Awesome pictures!

Beretta 92 Compact: "Does this picture make my butt look fat?"

Me: "No, it's not the picture's fault."

On a serious note, if I wasn't so lazy I'd go measure my 92 and a Glock, but it looks like the 92s butt is at least a .10" wider than the Glock.

Even if not, in CCW small differences are a big deal and (for me at least) the 92 is a bit harder to conceal for that reason.

YMMV

Well I just had an epiphany today.  I've been racking my brain about what gun to carry and all that.  And most of my handguns are big.

But I started walking around with my M9 in a cheap IWB today and with a flannel on untucked, I don't think it's noticeable.  At least my son couldn't tell.   And it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

I think I'm going to start a thread about it.

Great pics though.  Yeah, it's fatter.  But around the trigger guard it's not as wide.  And the profiles are pretty close.

The two important differences are pretty big ones: Weight and capacity. The 92C weighs more and holds 13+1. Glock is lighter and 15+1. I like my compact, but the 19 wins for carry.

I'd love to pick one of these up if I could find one.  I am disappointed about the sights though.  Would be a a real winner if it had been modeled after the 92A1.

I agree!

Can't swap out the front sight?

Hello?

It's for you Beretta.

It's the 1980's calling.

They want their fixed front sight back.

Yup-  As I and others have said,  a replaceable front sight, and a "G model" style lever that functioned as a Decocker only, and they'd have the perfect gun, IMO.   I have had no luck finding the current Compact model in gun stores, but will keep orbiting.

I agree, no reason all 92's shouldn't have replaceable sights by now.

Send the slide off to Tooltech Gunsight - you can still get night sights installed. I have them on my 92 compact.

They should of made the grip as short as the Mini Cougar. That would of been quite a difference.
