Well, had a kahr P9 about 8 years ago. Started out good, but as the round count increased, so did the issues. Traded it away. To their credit, kahr offered to replace it.
Well I bought a CM9 for size and it not being a .380. So far, have 328 rounds through it without an issue. Go to PJHOLSTER.COM for the best iwb holsters around for it. Magazine ejection is little tough, but I'm not sure I'll be speed reloading it. When I reassemble, I notice twice now, the tail end of the recoil spring starts to wind outside of the slide. Yes, the closed end is on the recoil rod. Might bend the tail in a bit so it doesn't catch. acurracy is good on a small gun. Kinda liking my new kahr! |

Taking some sandpaper to the inside of the magwell (there were quite a few burrs in there) and the magazine itself fixed this for me. You can get it to the point where the magazine practically launches itself out, if you sand it enough. I'm just always careful to make sure I seat the tail securely before I compress the spring and get the rod back in there. It was awfully confusing the first couple times I poked it out on accident, though. |

Here's a hint on the spring..... figured this out after jamming the gun out a couple of times
Assuming that you are putting the slide back together with the slide up side down Adjust the spring/rod so that the tail of the spring is down (towards the barrel) so it will properly rest against the lip near the muzzle end of the slide. I found that if you don't pay attention and the tail is 'up' towards the bottom of the slide, it won't hit the lip and will poke out Finish assembling. Art |
