Got my first Colt today at the gun show, picked up a Defender. Almost had to fight my dad for it!  As I'm hoping to use it as my conceal carry weapon, wanted to ask around to see what other Defender owners are using for holsters? Probably looking for an IWB type. Also, I've read that some of the compact 1911 style guns prefer certain mags that are made for them and feed better. Any input on good mags for the Defender would be great too. Thanks!

So I guess I'm the only one around who owns a Defender?  Too bad, I cleaned it and then took it out this weekend and fell in love. Put 90 rounds through it (80 Blazer 230g, 5 Winchester 230g HP, and 5 Rem. Golden Saber 230g HP) with no problems other than the slide locking open once during the Winchester HP ammo. Really handled well. Now I just need a good conceal holster and some extra mags if I can find some recommendations.

I have a New Agent which is basically the same pistol but blued and without sights. 
It's been a good pistol so far, accurate and reliable. Put maybe 800 rds of assorted hardball and hollow pt. ammo thru it without a hiccup. Here is a pic of it with his bigger brother, a Combat Commander.

Thanks!I've been using a DeSantis Scorpion IWB, which was made for a railed 5" 1911. That way, I can use it with any of mine. |

I found this holster to be very stable, especially when carrying an alloy frame 3" 1911 variant in it. It hardly seems like I have it on. |
| New Agent here also. Just picked up the MTAC for defender for it and so far it is great. Tons of people are happy with them and the only other thing I saw mentioned as much was the Milt Sparks VMII. But that is almost double the price. There is one in the EE right now. |
