Purchased a new Custom II this morning and I have a couple of questions since all my experience is with series 1pistols: The push rod for the firing pin block sticks up just enough (when grip safety is released) to cause the slide to hang when I field strip the weapon. Is it ok to take a little off the tip so that it will not restrict slide movement during disassembly/ assembly? I want to change the stock sights to Novak night sights and the rear sight will not move. Is there some trick to changing the rear sight on Series 2 pistols, or is this just the above average tighter than hell Kimber rear sight? Thanks in advance for any help suggestions. |
| I do not know about the rear sight. As far as the saftey, I would just leave it alone. It makes it a little dificult to disasimble but I would rather have that bother then not have the weapon worlk because of a slight modification especially when it comes to the saftey. |
| Do NOT do anything to the pin that deactivates the firing pin stop. When you disassemble the gun, simpley do not press the grip safety in. As long as the grip safety is not pressed, it wont stick up. If you do, then i can just about promise that it wont fully disengage the firing pin block, resulting in either light firing pin strikes, or no strike at all. |
