so I have had a G17 for a few month now and the trigger pull is around 7-8 lbs. I did a trigger polish job and it is still the same but smoother. I don't have a + connector.

Why is it so much?

Gen4? I've found that to be pretty typical for gen4's. You could try a dot connector and/or a gen3 trigger with trigger bar.

My new Gen 4 G21 feels rather heavy also.

I just ordered a lone wolf 3.5# connector and a 6# trigger spring. Gonna add those and a polish Job and hope it does the trigger some good.

UPDATE: I bought a Ghost 3.5# connector and it dropped the pull to about 5-5.5 range, just where I want it to be. Makes a huge difference in the way the trigger feels (no longer like a DA revolver )

Shoot it. A lot. It will improve.

A little weird. I've known new glocks to sometimes be a little heavy out of the box, but normally around 4.5-5.5 on the gen 3 and 5.5-6.5 on the gen 4

I've never seen a 4.5# Glock Trigger "out of the box."  Not even with the 17L or 34 which use the reduced minus connector. But yes Gen4 is heavier than Gen3 and 42/43 are heavier than Gen4.

My new g17 gen4 was in the mid 6 to 7# range out of the box. Ghost 3.5 connector dropped it to 5.5-5.75# range. Put the ghost spring kit in it with their 4# striker spring. It's consistently 3.75# now.
