The 21SF can be bought with a regular Glock rail and single sided magazine release. We can thank California, as that is the only version legal for sale there. |

Yes, the shop had the G21sf with the picatinny rail, and i tried it in some of their holsters -- it didn't fit. That was part of my decision. The new rail didn't look as bad in person, but I like the old one so I had them order it. It was unfortunate because they had the glock rail model is stock, but only under the LEO package. Mine arrived promptly though, and I will be visiting the range this weekend! |

Just returned from the range. What a great gun!! I shot 150 rounds with no malfunctions of any sort. Shot at 50ft -- for the first two mags I was pulling them a little to the right, but was still seeing a nice grouping. Once I got a little more focused, I was planting them right in the 10 ring of the standard NRA 50ft slow fire pistol target. I can tell this gun is going to be an absolute tack driver! A few things I noticed: -- Recoil impulse was very pleasant. I suspect this results from a combination of the grip angle, bore axis and wide smooth 'beavertail' area. Double taps were a lot easier compared to my old USP .45, and I could maintain a much better grip on it. The USP's huge slide release presented inconveniences for the 'thumbs forward' style grip. -- One of my mag springs makes an odd noise or vibration that I notice as it feeds the last round into the chamber. The first time I thought it was the slide locking back, but I quickly realized it was an indication that it was about to be 'reload time'. Pretty convenient. -- The ambi mag release is a pretty nice feature. I wouldn't mind the old style for mag compatibility, but I did find myself dropping the mag with my index finger sometimes, like I used to with the USP. I will probably settle on using it one way or the other, but it's nice to have the option to drop it however is easiest at any given time. I think this one is a keeper! Finally the answer to my high capacity .45 needs. |

A local PD a few towns away from me just swapped over to the G21SF. I'll be trying it out soon when the Chief and I head to the range. Too bad they are not "compliant" in MA or my 2nd Gen G21 would be traded towards one. If they came out with a G20SF, my Gen 2.5 G20 would go away, too! But, I don't have to worry about that until I move to NH. |

Going down tomorrow to order one with an LEO discount. Should come out with night sights to just around $500 or so. It will ride in my duty holster as soon as I get qualified with it. I'll be using it for CCW as well. I wish I could get the new Serpa duty holster with light for it, but it's not an option at this time. Oh well. The Safariland will have to do. |

I picked mine up this morning. No pix, b/c there is one posted and once you've seen one.... Haven't shot it yet and I need to get a ccw holster for it. Looking at the Serpa, I think. Maybe I'll make my own since it's what I do on the side. Got the LEO package and it came with 3 mags. I really like the shaved grip but not sure about the ambi-mag release. Have to shoot it to judge. I'll get nite sites in a few weeks. Won't be qualifying until Dec/Jan anyway. Anyway, I'm off to the hospital for g/f's surgery so it'll be a busy day and no range time today. Unless, I can squeeze it in while she's in recovery.... Hmm. |
