What do you think base model les or top of the line Dan Wesson? Oh, the Baer, hands down. Only Baer offers a 3" guarantee for 50 yards (not feet, YARDS!) for virtually all of their 1911s. As a wise old man once said, "you're never disappointed when you buy the best." I believe him. |

Should have just hot linked photos of the real pistol OP. Save them to your computer if you are afraid the seller will take them down. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/mac_05evo/IMG_5906w.jpg I thought long and hard about buying that one. No FCS and naked slide giggity That goes from Though I do think LB has the most appealing FCS around |

No FCS and naked slide giggity Same here. If the guy hadn't been on the other side of the state, I'd have probably talked myself into it... though I need another .45 like I need a hole in my head. Enjoy, Bob! |

Got the new Baer to the range today & it certainly did its part to further the Baer legacy, IMO. Groups using GA Arms ammo 230gr FMJ (cheap stuff) were right where the gun pointed @ 20 yards. (I don't usually shoot past that as I'm too old to do so @ 54. )
What was odd was when I tried a mag of my JHP carry ammo, it shot high & to the left (11 o'clock), almost off the target (a shoot-n-see 6" sticker). Same weight, just different brands. Oh, well, just goes to show how those things seem to happen. The Baer ran 100% with both FMJ & JHP, no jams or FTF or FTE. This is certainly what one expects from a Baer & I wasn't disappointed nor surprised.
I really got spoiled on the front frame checkering! Why others don't do this on their $900/1100 1911s is beyond me, IMO.
I got a pancake belt hoslter this week & will be using the Baer when I need something inbetween my P7M8 & my Glock 20SF. I will make one small change from my previous years of carrying my SA Mico & go from carrying in Cond 2 (hammer down, loaded chamber) to Cond 1 (cocked-n-locked). The Govt size seems to be a hair bit too large for me to as easily cock the hammer while drawing as I was able to do with the Micro. With the former owner having a mag well installed by Baer before I got it, this may well be THE most perfect 1911 I have ever shot, much less owned. I plan on shooting for score on the next range trip & will post the target pics. |
