I know another one of these "which gun should i buy" thread pops up every other day. I've tried reading the recent ones I could find, but none have fit my specific bill.
Bonus time is this month, and while most of the money will go to savings, I'm earmarking some for a new 1911. Initially I was set on the new Operator Black, but after seeing the street price will likely be 1200ish when it finally gets to distributors, it's a little above what I wanted to spend - for that money I'd rather bump up to a TRP, so I'm re-evaluating. Looking to try and stay at or below 1k - Full Size Rail would be a nice to have, but not required. Will be used for HD/Carry first, so not looking for target sights. Looking for a new gun, not used, as I would like to go through my LGS. I currently have a Springfield Mil-Spec that I've had for a number of years (my first .45 and one I will never sell) and done some work to, ready to step up a level or two for the next one. I'd previously only considered Colt or Springfield, but as I do more research some of the other manufacturers look good too, just don't know enough about them (eg - Sig TacOps looks good, and price is right but don't know enough about quality).
