All the ammo I had was Georgia Arms 95gr that I have had in my stash for several years.
Within the first 50 rounds had at least 4 FTF stoppages. The round would jamb against the
top of the chamber and at least once wouldn't peel the round all the way off so I just pushed
the slide all the forward.

I won't pass any kind of judgment until I can get some other brands of ammo down the
pipe.  I had some more Ga Arms ammo with me but 50 rounds was all I could stand. Especially
since my thumb where it connects to my hand was already bleeding.

Do these things need a couple hundred rounds to break in?

I have a break in procedure I use on all my pistols these days.

I rack the slide at least 200-300 times before firing (sometimes more).  I also leave the slide open overnight if there's a slide lock after doing the previous step.

I dry fire it 50-100 times as well, but that's more to smooth out the trigger...shouldn't have anything to do with feeding.

If it still doesn't feed, I start a thread on arfcom and go from there

I shot my new custom today and learned that I am going to have to remember to take a thumbs high grip on it. When I took my normal grip I released the magazine every couple of rounds. Feeding was fine with PMC FMJ.

I wouldn't get too excided just yet.

I you didn't clean the new gun as it came from the box and give it a light lube , shame on you , if you did , give it another go . Don't overlook the magazine , just a bit of dirt or crud can make it a bit rough and then the upper round doesn't snap up to the proper angle and height . You shouldn't really oil a mag because it will eventually attract dirt or gum up . I usually hose the things down with silicone spray that helps clean it but after it dries leaves some dry lube behind .

Don't know anything about the ammo you mentioned but I would try a couple boxes of regular "ball" ammo from one of the big names.

If you are sure everything is clean and lubed and it is still fussy after another 100 rounds get in touch with Ruger .

Generally everything I hear on LCPs shows them working pretty decent right out of the box but yours might have a tight or rough spot or a bit of crud.

Something else to consider - with the smaller guns sometimes it isn't too hard to be dragging some part of your hand on the slide if you have bigger hands. blowback guns like the 380's won't run well if you are slowing down the slide

My LCP Custom eats any and all ammo, although I've not tried Winchester flat nose.

My first lcp was a notorious FTE. Sent it back to ruger, changed springs, nothing helped.  My second one with the better sights and improved trigger has only jammed a couple of times in about 1000 rounds.

This...I have the custom and have had no issues with four or five types of ammo.
I'd say to break it in, clean it, run it wet, and see what happens.

I did a write up on another forum. My first 42 rounds were plagued with failures, I believe 6. Packed it up, cleaned it, and took it back out. 3 in 58. Repeated the process. Had 1 failure next outing. After about 150 rounds the failures ceased to exist. Just needed to loosen up a bit.  Keep shooting it and report back.

Clean before shooting. Try some different brands of ammo.
