Looks like Springfield is coming out with a  new all black Operator. It comes with the same mag funnel as the TRP. They also changed the grips on the MC operator and it has some sort of fish scales on the front strap.

I like that a lot.

Would make a good house gun.

Hmm.../

Interesting....I wonder what pricing will be like.  It's basically a TRP w/o the adjustable rear site and a GI recoil setup instead of a FLGR.

I've been looking for a full size to replace the Kimber Tactical Entry II that I sold a few years ago.  That looks like a good candidate.  Wonder what the price will be?

No front strap checkering.

That looks a lot like a Long Beach Operator. I wonder what  the price will be.

The front strap of the LBO is not checkered.

[#6]
Yeah, it's the LB Op, but now available to the general public.
1/15/2015 9:36:49 PM EDT
[#7]
It's the long beach operator but probably more production runs than the LBO. Hopefully they keep the price in line with the MC op or LBO. Buds had the LBO a month or so ago for $1,250 and the MC op as low as $1049.

If the price is right, it's going to make my decision much, much harder. Loaded Op or DW Specialist.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the story behind the "Long Beach Operator".  It sounds like the title of a bad 80's action movie.

Long Beach PD asked for a run of operators set up like the picture above. SA releases a very small batch of them every year to the general public. The general public wanted more of them, so SA is releasing it as a normal production item and calling it the Loaded Operator.

At least that is how I understand it.

So.. does anyone wanna buy my lightweight operator so I can buy a loaded?

I'm pumped.

Wish they would make a stainless with the rail!

Uber jay...if you do plan on selling your Operator...PM me..my lightweight champion operator needs a big brother..

Loving it.  Like the design changes to the MC, and loving the long-awaited released of the LBO in mass (hopefully).

The Loaded Operator will be My next 1911! The only thing I will change is the ambi safety to a single side, probably the Grips to some VZ with a different color I kinda like the Predator Green:) I might upgrade the Fire Control Group to tool Steel at a later time. And I disable the ILS with Standard Mainspring Parts. I hope They will be available about the Middle of Febuary when My Tax Return comes in:)

I was on track for a Colt Rail gun until I saw this. No series 80 in the Springfield makes that decision for me.

I would take any loaded operator... But TRP is on top of my list

It's based on the specs from their Long Beach PD contract. LBPD didn't specify front strap checkering.

Sounds about right. Buds will have them in the $1250 range most likely. Just like their $1250 price on the LBO

True, but not named LBO I was hoping for a few dollars less since it will be a normal production run now. Still not a bad street price if it is around $1250.

exactly, i was hoping for the same thing, maybe put it in line with the MC Operator since it's not a special edition.

still excited for it.

I wish the Staff or Moderators would add a Like Button to Click On I was going to wait on a Loaded Operator but had a Deal come up on a NIB MC Operator.
I prefer no Checkering on the Front Strap, I have been Shooting 1911's for 30 Years and My TRP I just sold was the first one with Checkering i didn't Shoot it much Because the Checkering was kinda rough on My Right Hand. And I am a Auto/ Truck Technician so I don't have Wimpy Hands. Just like Snap On Wrenches I prefer the Smooth Feel of a Non Checkered Front Strap.

Mine is nicer, bought it back in 05, ton of rounds through it, still shoots great and tight as a drum.  had the front strap checkered recently at SACS then Cerakote at JFE

with new grips, those original grit-grips were the best but after 10 years their not so gritty

Just picked up mine today at my LGS.  Couldn't believe they had one in.  Had to do some horse trading but got one.  Price on the tag was 1065 plus tax.

Going to the range in 30 and will report back tonight if anyone wants to know.

Nice, let us know how you like the texturing on the front strap.
2/7/2015 6:49:24 PM EDT
[#42]
It cost 285 at Joint Force Enterprises for the two tone job. Armor black and a custom tan that I had him spray as flat as possible.

Cliff did an amazing job, so much better than the guy in St Petersburg who did my AR15 for 250.  It really brought this thing back to life.  I've had this thing ten years so it's worth it, don't see myself ever getting rid of it.

The front strap checkering can be a bit rough but its worth it, i would recommend shooting one with that done vs some other texture type like golf balls, there is simply no comparison

jeffy: You really did refresh that baby!  I sure like the 90 degree dust covers.

These look sweet! I am thinking about picking one up to send off to SACS for some front strap checkering and other work. Probably have em add a 10-8 rear and maybe a new front site too. What else would you guys have done if it is gonna end up there anyway?

Kygunco has the loaded operator in stock for 1110.99 right now. Wish I had about two hundred more in the gun fund right about now.
