I was looking on the SA website that apparently they added some mods to the MC Operator.  Looks like they dumped the rubber grips and  added some front strap texturing...I think I got my operator a month too soon.

Looks a lot more like the TRP, which is a good thing IMO.

Then again, I prefer and bought the TRP over the MC....which I still would.

Now if they'd just dump that awful green I'd be totally in.

Not really, bull barrel, checkering, magwell and adjustable sights vs the MC's std barrel, no checkering, fixed sights, no magwell.

The Long Beach Operator with 25LPI checkering would be perfect. If they release the Long Beach Op as a regular production item (more so than it is now), and it is in the 11-1200 range, I will buy one and send it to SACS for checkering and undercut trigger guard.

I like that alot. I have owned 2 TRP's so far, sold them to get a Wilson. Now I sold the Wilson to go back to a TRP, may need to find one of these instead.

No bull barrel. No adjustable sights.

Buy whatever you like, but based on what the OP is looking for, can't imagine the TRP not fitting the bill.

That's the std TRP, I though we were discussing the Operator line, if I was mistaken then I apologize.

That's sweet. I love the MC Operator. I use grip tape instead of the wrap around.

I like the front strap checkering on the TRP. This looks funky, but I wonder how it feels and how effective it is.

It's my favorite version of the TRP, a little more than the regular; bull barrel, highball cut and rail. Not as aggressive as the the next version; full rail.

I am hoping to get one of the current MC Operators without Front Strap Checkering, I have been Shooting and Owning 1911's for 30 Years and don't care for the feel of the Chekering. I have a Mil Spec and Prefer the Feel of it over My TRP! I am hoping to either sell or Trade My TRP for a MC Operator before the New ones hit the Market. Anybody up for a Trade?

Yep it's 95% perfect. That is why I still hover about getting a LBO or an MC op and having the custom shop do some magic, or just get a DW Specialist which is about 98% perfect (for me)

By the way, SA has removed the LBO from the website as of right now.

nice.... i guess they don't need to keep with specs anymore being as it wasn't chosen.

anyway this thing starts coming in black it'll show up in my safe.

If they'd lose the front serrations and coat the barrel/bushing/trigger black it'd be perfect.

Did the LBO have an ILS MSH/magwell?  If so, I would go with the MC and send it to the SACS.

Looks nice.  Good call by SA on the grip and front strap changes.  I had planned to leave the original Pachmayr grips on mine, but once I got it in my hand I found them to be a bit bulky for my taste.  I put some VZ's on it and I'm pretty happy with it as it sits.  I do wish it had some front strap texture on it.  I wonder if there will be a price increase on the new version?

No doubt! I had a chance to buy a gently used Operator at a great price but declined and paid full price for an "NM" serial prefix "Loaded" instead just because I hate that green Armory Kote finish... I'm digging the new front strap for sure though!

Well Son of a Gun.  Now what do I do with the MC Op I just freaking bought!!!

I see that they have dispensed with the pretense and also started calling the "Marine Corps Operator" full on.  I LOVE those grips.

The site now has a "Loaded Operator" under the same category which looks like the Long Beach Op, sweet!
