| Skateboard tape seems to be pretty popular, I think either Brownells or Midway carries pre cut specific grip tape which is pretty much the same thing but with a name brand on it. Some use Hogue grips that cover the front strap, and Pachymayr makes them as well. |

There are also many that hate on Kimber because a friend had a friend who had one that didn't run reliably....riiight. You will find a lot of elitism within the 1911 community, just try not to get caught up in it. Screw 'em. It's your pistol, rig it out however you want because at the end of the day, you're the one that shelled out the cash for it.
