| Just tried out the new Sig GSR XO last night and the first round of every JHP mag would jam. Had to slam bottom of mag or slide to get into battery. After the first round it ran flawless. This did not happen with any FMJ mags. Any ideas? |

First round should feed whether you sling shot it or drop it off the slide stop. You sound like you have a feedramp problem and or some stiff mag lips that might need a little tuning. What does the polish job look like on the feed lip? Does the polish lip extend down into the magazine tunnel past the tip of a loaded round placed in the magazine while loaded in the pistol? Is the round being forced down into the feedlip where the nose dive pushes against a non polished area? Is the round going up into the barrel, but not stripping off the magazine? Does the round strip from the magazine but not seat into the breachface because the extractor is holding it back from doing so? Sounds like you have a minor tuning issue. What kind of ammo are you using? Thanks, Bob www.millercustom.com |
| I wasn't able to get a clear picture of the ramp, but it seems polished ok and extends past the first round in the mag. When this happens the round nose dives directly into the polished area. This happened with new Black Hills and Hornady. I've got some new Wilson mags coming today, so I'll try them and report back. Thanks for the help. |
