I recently purchased my first 1911. I chose the Loaded after comparing the features and shooting a friends. It came well oiled and brand new in box. I disassembled it and noticed these odd nicks on the right side rail [unsure of that sections real name.]  It is only on the right side of the frame. Having not owned one before I am unsure as to weather this spot will get much wear or if its a non issue due to its location. Other than these markings it shoots great and is overall an excellent gun.

My Springfield loaded has those marks.

Are your marks on only one side as well? Not in an area that is a wear point I take it then?

Dull tooling.   Not something to worry about, since that isn't a bearing surface for the slide.

this.  My loaded has the same markings.  Its most likely a combination of an incorrect set up (off center just slightly) and a dull endmill and/or finisher.
