Like most , I have a box full of holsters.  A lot have come close, but never just perfect.  The other issue is that I have a hard time keeping my pants up carrying my XD40.  I can cinch my belt tight but driving or sitting is uncomfortable and it a pain in the ass to loosen and tighten my belt as needed.

I came across G-Code holsters while looking for a tactical solution.  They have excellent tactical set ups, but they also have a IWB holster as well.  I thought since their tac stuff is highly regarded, I'd give it a shot.  A few weeks after ordering, it arrived and I have to be completely honest and say it is by far the best holster I've ever owned.  In fact I just ordered a second one in anticipation of my lightweight commander I have being built.  Comfort-wise, it's as good as the crossbreed, but just had better features like a positive snap in place when you holster the gun.

The next thing I did was to buy suspenders.  I took the recommendation from other research and just got a couple pairs of Perry belt hook suspenders.  I felt stupid at first, but that quickly gave way to much improved carry confidence.  We went outlast night and I wore my usual attire... Nice jeans and an untucked dress shirt.  I put a t-shirt on, hooked up my suspenders, put on my dress shirt and holstered my xd.

Driving was totally comfortable, getting In and out if the car presented no issues and I felt a lot more confident as I felt my setup was far more secure.  It was probably the most comfortable I've ever been carrying.

So if you're still looking for that perfect holster, give the G-code a try.  It maybe perfect for you like it is for me.  And... If you sometimes worry about the extra weight dragging your pants down or don't like having to tighten your belt so tight, give the suspenders a try.  It's odd at first, but after 20 min, I forgot I even had them on.

A kid from my neigborhood just got his permit, and I pointed out Gcode, among others.

He got their IWB adapter thing, with the regular holster I think, for his M&P .40.

He really likes it.

Now I just have to make sure the HP ammo programming takes ahold, and he saves his truncated cones for the range

This is the one I just got:

Like I said, favorite to date for my XD.  I'm hoping I'm just as happy with the one that's coming fo my commander.  I got the full guard version since I carry more on my hip, but I'll probably order another one in the half guard for appendix carry if I like it just as much for the commander.

I think my subtle sarcasm was over-looked here.

With the Perry suspenders, do you have to remove the cover shirt to drop your pants, or can you just unhook the suspenders?

I do the suspenders thing.  It helps a lot with all the pistol/holster combos.

Not everyone is shaped just right, and an awesome belt doesn't always work for everyone all the time.

It's about the same for hook or snap style. I have both.

It's easier to put back on the hooks, but it's still faster just to remove the shirt over the head like a t-shirt.

Sorry for the delay...

I'm usually wearing an untucked dress shirt with jeans when I'm out...its really easy to just reach under your shirt and unclip, but it's just as easy to slip your shirt off if you need to take crunch for instance.  Most public restrooms... Well nicer ones anyway...typically have a hook to hang your shirt.

The Perry suspenders have been an awesome addition to my carry gear. I'm paying the price for youthful indescretions
(Hip and lower back issues). I can really fine tune the height and snugness using the Perry's and my Wilderness belt.
I highly recommend both.
