I currently own an XDS 4.0 in 9mm. I enojoy the firearm but am looking for something bigger. I want to stay with 9mm for right now (unless I went with a revolver) for ease of buying one caliber.

Recently I went to my local SGS and looked at a Beretta 92a1. I really liked the feel of the handgun. What are your thoughts on my first full size 9mm.

SIG perhaps?

I really don't like the ergonomics of the Beretta:  slide mounted safety/decocking lever is a NO-GO in my book.

They seem to be a love it or hate it weapon.

Obvious answer would be XDM 5.25.

My thoughts also. I would like to fire it and see how I like slide mounted safety/decocker. My only issue is I live in NYS...need to travel out of state to shoot the handgun most likely.

There are so many choices.

Duh, you're right.

Thought OP might be deliberately looking for something different.

Having a bigger gun with the same ergos = good!

This is the quick answer.  Unless he wants to just have another model.

Have you looked at the XDM? If you're set on a Beretta then this is the Beretta you want ...

Before giving any advice, some questions need to be answered. Is this full size going to share carry time with the xds? Do you want it strictly as a range gun? Does it need to have an external safety? Does it matter whether it's hammer fired or striker fired? Preference on metal frame or polymer?
Kinda like saying "I like my current car but I wanna get another too. Which one do you recommend?"

Thanks for all the different pieces of input.

To answer some of the questions this full size most likely won't have carry time it will most likely be my range/woods/night stand gun. I would like it to have a front rail, I am debating on whether I want polymer or metal frame, and the same debate goes for an external hammer vs striker fired. I'm basically really undecided.

As for an XDM I'd have to shoot it first I'm not sure if I want to get another gun like my XDS I like some diversity.

I have fired a cz in 45 and I really enjoyed it. And pertaining to the wilson combat Beretta, I saw that and it looks awesome.

I do realize this thread was basically saying tell me what cars you like I want a new one lol. Just wanted to here from others because most people I know say G17...which I have thought about also.

CZ TS, it is a ton of fun to shoot, and makes you look better then you are.  I also like the sp-01, or a 9mm 1911.

Don't I wish! Funds will not allow currently but some day! Lol

I have ponderd a 9mm 1911 also. I have heard good things about RIA for the price.

Pound for pound, dollar for dollar the best pistols I've ever bought are full size M&P 9 and a Glock 17. In that order.

Both the mp and glock are great from what I have heard also. I guess I gotta get to a range and start shooting!

There are lot's of options and many of them will be good ones.  I think the XD Mod. 2 full size might be a good choice.  Also, I really like the full size M&P.  Buy the .40 cal and for about $120 bucks extra you can get a drop in 9mm barrel and a couple of 9mm mags to have the ultimate in versatility.

I do like versatility and I really would like to have a multiple caliber set up..that's a good idea.

Just last night I came across the Walther P99 or another model it seems those pistols are solid choices also.

No cheese-grater on the bottom of the gun.

No lawyer billboards on the side of the gun.

All business.
No BS.

Considering that you live in NYS, I don't think I'd want a model that holds 17 rounds if I couldn't have the mags.

If I wanted a full size gun in NYS, I'd get a 1911. My 1st preference would be .45 ACP, but a 9MM would be OK too.

That was the exact reason I bought the XDS as my first hand gun because I couldn't stand the fact of having a neutered full-size gun.

On the completely other end of the spectrum I have considered the ruger lcr 9mm too...I really just want just about everything haha.

Berettas are great, most seem to dislike them only because of the safety/decocker and da/sa trigger system. Nothing that stops anyone from enjoying them that doesn't mind the two features.

That changes things seeing that you live in that fuck-tard ran state... Hmmmm... I think I would go with either an M&P45(mid-size) or a Springfield 1911 since you cannot have mags over a certain limit. What is it, 10? I know you said you wanted to stay 9mm but you might reconsider that since your restricted to mag capacity. My parents are from Jersey and live there now. But they are thankful they live 5 miles south of NYC and though NJ laws are bad, NY laws are much worse.

Are my eyes deceiving me or does your SP01 have a barrel bushing around the barrel? I've never handled or shot a CZ that had/has a barrel bushing. Custom job??? Either way nice piece...

It's an ACCU Shadow. It's technically a factory gun (factory enough for USPSA production division), and I use it to shoot Production.
