What are some of your thoughts about the Nighthawk GRP Recon vs. other high end 1911's?

I've heard nothing but great reviews on it...and that's despite having the goofiest name ever given to a pistol.

GLOBAL RESPONSE PISTOL....come on Nighthawk. Really?

NightHawk makes a nice pistol, I wouldn't worry to much about it in comparison to the other big name shops, they all make great guns that you really can't go wrong with.  Asking which is better is like asking in the AR Tech forum which is better, Colt or BCM.

I have a Nighthawk GRP Recon and was contemplating on trading it for a LMT MWS .308. But the more I think about it the more I want to keep my GRP.

I have an Armalite AR 10 that I really like, however it only goes to the range. My Springfield Professional goes everywhere I go.

If your GRP is a range only gun then I'd say go for the LMT. However if you carry it or would carry it in place of your primary should your primary be out of service for what ever reason then getting rid of it would be foolish.

I have a GRP recon and I would make that trade.

I've had mine for almost 2 years now... It's a badazz pistol... Fires any crap I can get even in junk mags, it just wont stop. Only thing I would have changed/removed on my order is the laser/red dot grips, I don't use that stuff.

Ive only handled other high end 1911's very briefly and only shot 300rds through mine. So i can't compare directly yet. I will say fit and finish wise it's very hard to imagine there being much room for any significant difference.

Hard call, my Pro also goes every where I go, but damn the LMT is awesome

But will the LMT be there with you to save your ass?

Very good question. I think I will keep the GRP I have 2 SBR's and 3 SBS's, plus other hunting rifles and a few Glocks, Sig Sauer.

So in a way there is no real need for the LMT other than long range distance. But it is one sweet rifle.
