I got recommended the Glock 19 as it's a fantastic pistol and a potential CCW gun. (Currently don't have the funds for it... but I think I can get one before election day depending on gun price increases)

I'm not 21 yet, but I definitely plan on CCW as soon as I hit 21 if the CCW laws are still here...

The only problem is... I don't think I'm the type of body/clothing to do so. I'm relatively athletic (lift weights and run frequently but nothing compared to some friends who play football for OU) I'm 5'11" and weigh 185-190. I generally wear "fitted tees" which are basically slim t-shirts (Think American Eagle/Abercrombie shirts) and cargo pants for the majority of the year as it's typically blazing hot in Oklahoma.

My concern is that wearing the glock on a holster on the inside of my belt may have it jutting/sticking out too much and being revealed by my tshirts. (I really don't want to change my clothing lifestyle/wardrobe lol) Now... possible stupid idea... would it be easier for me to just slip it inside one of my cargo pockets? (Only problem I can see is if I sit down in an angled seat like a car, it may slip out) Or do I have nothing to worry about with an IWB holster?

Carrying a firearm for self protection is a lifestyle.  Like many lifestyles, carrying comes with its own set of clothing and manner of dress.  I wear and own clothing I didn't even think of wearing before I started to CCW.

Life is full of compromises and carrying makes the user compromise their behavior, comfort, locales and, yes, clothing.

Loose fitting clothes, overshirts, sport coats, etc offer the best compromise of concealability, accessability and security for carrying a concealed handgun.

Thanks for saving my some typing. You have to change your thinking. You don't carry a gun based on your clothes, you dress around your gun.

You might want to rethink the Glock if you plan on wearing t shirts and the like, I carry a Kel Tec P3AT in a pocket holster on the days I wear clothing that does not allow me to carry my Sig or 1911 in a IWB. Just a thought

well, that is YOUR call...you can decide which is more important to your life/livelihood: you wearing cool clothes that define 'you' or your right and decision to carry a firearm for self-protection if needed

the reasons why you probably should use a dedicated holster for carrying your firearm is so that is AVAILALBLE and obtainable as quickly as possible IF you should ever need it...if you have a dedicated holster in a appropriate carry position, a dedicated gun belt, and proper attire, you can both conceal your firearm comfortably all day AND have it ready for use if needed

that said, you can just drop a G19 into your cargo pockets...i nor anyone on this site or anywhere else would stop you from doing so
h/w, besides the possibility of the firearm not being accessable readily if needed, the firearm is loose, bulky, heavy, and just uncomfortable, esp while moving, in cargo pants (ask me how i know); its not really a feasible carry position due to this as well as your already mentioned possibility of slipping out during movements or seating and because it will not stay "still" during the day after some movement

my opinion: TRY and SHOOT the G19 BEFORE you commit yourself to buying it...it IS a great firearm imo and i would recommend it; h/w, not everyone prefers em--YOU should decide what you prefer and what should suit you and your needs

then, i would suggest you use a dedicated holster and carry your firearm as it were a serious tool to be used in only the most serious natures of life: your survival during a possible dangerous, life threating act....not as a fashion statement

lastly, but not least, get training, both on your firearm and your mindset on using a firearm for self-defense

but, thats just me; if YOU decide to just slip a G19 or pocket gun, etc in your pocket and be comfrotable w/ that, by all means...

and now for something completely different!

consider the Thunderwear or  Smartcarry line of holsters. These are worn under your trousers, and the pistol hangs in front of your 'junk.'

If you don't want to change your clothing then i would suggest getting a pocket pistol like a Kel-Tec P3AT or Ruger LCP or S&W 642. Those ya can just toss in your pocket and not worry about dressing around them. For a Glock 19 you might have to get looser pants, a good gun belt, get a good IWB holster, tuck in your t-shirt, toss on a button down short sleeve shirt to cover your weapon, and so forth.

If you just slip the loaded g19 in your pocket without a holster, be careful pulling it out as your likely to shoot off your pecker. I wouldn't carry anything else in that pocket either, snag the trigger and you've had a bad day

Hmm... really really interested in that thunderwear and smartcarry holster now. The size of the glock19 compared to those even smaller handguns seem to be no big deal with a holster like that as you can just wear it even lower. I like that you don't need a tucked in shirt to conceal a holster like that. It seems I'd be able to wear a tshirt, simply slide my hand in between, and voila. Only problem I'd see with that... is to not scratch my balls.

A 38 in the pocket is better than a glock at home.

Wear a wife beater under your shirt and tuck it in over the holster.  The gun won't get caught on the tshirt and if it lifts up all anyone will see is the undershirt.

If you still find that uncomfortable, get a .38 snubbie.

i switched from fitted tees to larger t-shirts when i started carrying my Glock 19, with an IWB holster it disappears

Hmm... I guess I'll really look into the Smart Carry. I love my fitted tees, especially in Oklahoma heat. I suppose I can do IWB during the colder months.

It seems that I can easily conceal a G19 with a Smart Carry when wearing cargo shorts. I just did some "imaginary holstering/unholstering" and an untucked tee shirt seems like it'd slow me down by less than a second.
