I have seen all the IWB carry threads, and the deep concealment threads.  Now lets see a thread where you show off your OWB holsters.  Trying to figure out what I wanna get with winter coming up and me being able to OWB carry and still conceal it.

I am thinking I want a total leather holster, although I could be inclined to do a mix of leather/plastic if it had good reviews.  Retention is a moot point, as I am used to either no retention(IWB hostlers) or level 2 on my Serpa that I currently OWB carry with when I OWB carry.  Gun is a Sig 229r

What are your recommendations/experience?  Also, pictures of said OWB holster if you have them.

Here's one of mine.  No matter the holster or maker I've learned like with most things you get what u pay for.   And would recommend a custom leather holster over a store bought one as long as its a decent maker.

I like high ride OWB -here is a pix of some of mine..a Galco {always a good choice] and two Simply Rugged pancakes.

)

I also like the Galco slide shown next.

I live in shorts and t-shirt weather so high and tight is a priority most  of the year. Have other good OWB holsters when wearing a blazer or suit coat.

Strong believer in  good gun belts - mine are The Beltman, Galco Contour and Wilderness, all with stiffeners

For leather, Alessi CQC-S. For kydex, Raven Phantom (or clone) –– pancake wings will pull it in really tight.

Excellent custom made to order kydex with a fast turn around time!  I've been working my OWB w/10 degree cant and body shield for my Combat Commander for several days now.  All I can say is AWESOME!  He's a veteran and local to me here in NC, but ships USPS Priority for those that can't pick up like me.  VERY affordable and the sky is the limit as to styles.

He's working nights, so it may be best to just email him at first.

Go for it! You won't regret it.

I have lot's of custom leather rigs, but the Bianchi Carryloc get's worn more than any other. Second would be the Blackhawk paddle rig. My expensive leather never gets carried.

These are a few OWB holsters I have made for myself and others. I prefer the high-ride pancake style under a t-shirt or button up.

I ordered from EDC Holsters on Friday last week and received my order Thursday. Shipping was very fast and so far I'm liking the product a lot.

I'm throwing on an undershirt and another button up shirt over it and that's it right now. I'm too fat for IWB carry at this time. I think I would prefer it, but my Nano is getting shelved in favor of the EDC.

Standing straight (fairly) and arms crossed.

It's kind of a thin shirt, all cotton. When I lean forward, it begins to print. During winter with a coat/jacket/outerwear, it would conceal easily.

A couple pics of the holster itself.

My biggest problem is doing a deep bend and that shirt wants to ride up right over the holster when I stand back up. No biggie. The Ares belt gives good support. I have also moved the holster closer to the 3:00 position. I run the belt through one of the kydex loops then my pant loop then the other kydex loop. I fiddle with it all for a minute to get it tight and sitting correctly. In heavy clothing, I could CC a full-size no problem in a rig like this. More than enough holster for the money. I'll never do anything besides light carry in it anyway. I'm very satisfied right now with it.

I've actually begun to position the holster closer to 3:00 in an effort to minimize printing in the back when bending over or leaning. My current jeans sit just below the waist so there is a slight print if you're looking for it.

I just received an x concealment c series OWB for glock 17/22 and I am very impressed.  To me, it is more comfortable than a Raven or similar kydex holsters.  It really is as comfortable as a good leather pancake design, but the draw and retention is much superior.  Retention is actually adjustable to your desire.

I like how those look, but they don't make them for the Sig 229 sadly :(

I am leaning towards a Raven with wings for OWB, now I gotta find one for my purely open carrying days(range days/ect)

I've got an X-Concealment "C" for my G27. I, too, have replaced my Raven with it as my EDC holster. Great design.

I bought it on your recommendation and couldn't be happier with it.  Thanks

In fact, I think I am going to order the gen 2 c series IWB version for a Glock 26

My OWB version has the comfort of a MIlt Sparks OWB design, but the draw and reholstering capabilities of a comptac infidel, ctac, etc.

I apparently didn't take a picture of my personal rig, but here is one that I made that is identical to mine except mine is for a M&P9c. I use to carry IWB exclusively but have since swapped to OWB kydex.

So this post made me go back and look at them again.  Then I noticed a really cool thing that they do called Bluegun = Holster.  So once the VA pays me(eventually) I will be ordering a bluegun for them

You can tuck about anything in a good quality high ride pancake holster - leather or Kydex. Kydex is a bit slimmer and draws faster though IMO.

I'll hide a G21 / X300 no problem...

Or ditch the light and use a smaller pistol for more concealment..

Or go to something really small for summer...

The pistol can matter just as much as the carry method. I keep different summer and winter rigs / guns. I try and carry OWB with a Weapon Light whenever possible though.

What the pictures don't show is how close to the body the "C" holster holds the weapon. From the various holsters I've used over the years, the only thing that beats the "C" for close to the body concealment are IWB holsters. It's the best OWB I've used for concealment.

Hey Hero... Thanks for the pics.  It does look like the "C" is more compact.  Let us know if it holds up over time.  Thanks again, pca

I'll take some tomorrow.

If you don't know what you want, then get something modular. That way you can adjust it to your needs more. Cheaper and easier to buy and swap belt attachments rather than complete holsters.
